Elven FCB for Shaman

Rules Questions

If a Shaman takes the Witch's Hex, Prehensile Hair, does the Elven FCB increase the reach?

Given the text of the hex it reads:

Hex causes hair to grow.

Reach is a property of the hair.

Arguably it could be used to increase reach - feel free to run it by your dm. For PFS I don't think so.

Well I'm looking for an opinion on RAI. Since you don't think it would work in PFS, does that mean you think the FCB would in apply to P.Hair?

I think it's arguable and is up to your DM. I would be leery of allowing it in my games because it seems like the sort of thing a player could make very overpowered.

Scarab Sages

No, the reach of the Prehensile Hair is personal. It allows you to extend your hair. The FCB is for hexes that have the standard 30' ft range. Likewise, it wouldn't allow you reach with the nails hex.

Also, a witch hex is not a shaman hex, so the FCB may not apply to any hex gained with the witch hex shaman hex.

It's still a shaman hex, it's just from the witch list. And the FCB should probably stipulate that it's only for hexes with a standard 30' range, but it does not. Otherwise I pretty much agree with you.

I'm with Imbicatus, "No, the reach of the Prehensile Hair is personal" Maybe you could say it allows you to grow hair from 5 ft away, but then it's not your hair so it fails to grow.
