The Incredible Hulk: New and Improved!

As some folks know Yahoo! Voices has shuttered its doors, so I've been finding new homes for my character conversion articles. Last week before I left for Gen Con I re-wrote my build for Hulk, adding more flavor, depth, and multimedia to the piece.

It has been pointed out that for numbers' sake, barbarian as your first level is best.

The Incredible Hulk

Cool.

Um I don't think that the drunken brute allows a mutagen to be taken as a movr action.

Otherwise good stuff.

Lemartes, I shall check if there's a yay or nay. I was under the impression that drinking a mutagen was the same as drinking a potion as far as actions were concerned.

I don't believe that is correct.

Question would Brawler be a better fit then Barbarian?

While you lose the rage, you gain the base punch damage. The player could then take "Catch Off Guard" as their first level feat which simulates the way that (from the movies) Hulk actually fights.

Good read! Also liked your Catwoman writeup!

Hmmm... wonder with the new Brawler Shield Champion Archetype and Bloodrager how long until we're talking about Captain America and Thor as respectable builds.

Silver Crusade

Well, at the time he wrote those, he wasn't in possession of the final version of the ACG. Maybe now that it's out, he might consider looking over it to do alternate takes on his builds. Like making Thor a warpriest with Air and Weather blessings or the Hulk as an Abyssal bloodline bloodrager.

Blayde, I would be pleased to get my hands on said books. Unfortunately as a writer whose income depends on how popular his content (like my character builds) gets, buying additional gaming books is typically pretty off limits to my monthly budget. I am hoping to change that in the near future, and if it does happen folks here will be the first ones to know about it.

You know, a while back I was calculating the carrying capacity for my fighter/champion I carried through wrath of the righteous; at lvl 20 tier 10 he ended up with a strength of 48 after he got a permanent enlarge person spell slapped on him.

Anyway, what I ended up with was as follows;

Light Load: 6400lbs.
Medium Load: 12800lbs.
Heavy Load: 19200lbs.
Lift Over Head: 19200lbs.
Lift Off Ground: 38400lbs.
Push or Drag: 96000lbs.

While that may or may not sound impressive, what that means is that my fighter can struggle to push or drag 48 tons, where as the Hulk can lift over 100tons and toss it a considerable distance.

Add Display of Strength and you basically multiply these numbers by 16.

Accelerated drinker cannot be applied to drinking an extract or a mutagen, AFAIK.

AFIAK? I'm not familiar with that term. Has there been an official ruling on this, since I was under the impression that extracts at least were considered no different from potions?

AFAIK, "As far as I know".

Gotcha Fiend *nods* Upon re-checking the wording in the class it says that extracts are imbibed just like potions. Mutagens are drunk, and since it gives no special kind of action for them I'm assuming that they are also following the "drunk like a potion" rule.

Mutagenic Mauler, I think we're done here.
