God of mischief?

Silver Crusade

Who would be the patron deity of the Gnome Prankster Bard archetype from the Advanced Race Guide? Nivi Rhombodazzle seems like the obvious first guess, but mocking people and pulling pranks doesn't seem like her style.

Is there a more appropriate god of mischief for this sort of thing?

Two in particular popped up upon a quick hero lab search.

Chaldira Zuzaristan (Neutral Good Halfling Deity "The Calamitous Turn") - Doesn't really seem mischievous so much as just crazy and lucky (as per halfling luck.)

Then there's The Lantern King (Chaotic Neutral "trickster god from the First World.") First World is often associated with fey, which gnomes are linked to.

I'd look at The Lantern King. He can be found in the Inner Sea World Guide.

Chaldira can be found in Gods & Magic

Personally, I think that Cayden Cailean would be appropriate as well, but that's more for the CG, "I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I BECAME A GOD BUT LOOK WHAT I CAN DO!" aspect of things.

Silver Crusade

I definitely wouldn't think of Cayden for this. He may be chaotic, but he's not a prankster.

I'll look into The Lantern King.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Calistra's portfolio is Lust, Revenge, and... often neglected, Trickery. Most clerics seem to focus on one of the first two while seeing the third as means to that end. However, I can see gnomes taking the often overlooked facet of the goddess, as not the means but the main aspect and running with it.

The fact 'orthodox' worshipers (If a CN deity can be said to have those) might find it unheard of would be just gravy to the bleach defying gnomes. You fight the bleaching, tinker with a goddess until you feel devoted to her, AND possible cause a major religious schism? Huzzah!
