Hyper Strength Smash Build

Advice

So, this is an attempt to make a workable build with a massive strength score. To do this, I plan to take a combination of Improved Eldritch Heritage (Orc/Abyssal for +6 inherent) and Dragon Disciple (+4 untyped), to get a base strength score of 40. (starting 19+6 enhancement+6 inherent+ 4 untyped+5 level)

So the main problem with the build at the moment is that I don't have a good way to apply this strength. I plan to be grabbing a casting class to eventually get Form of the Dragon III and various other Polymorph spells, unfortunately those only last minutes/level. So what do you guys recommend for me to do for otherwise?

The current build is planned to be Ranger 2/Sorcerer or Wizard(?) 14/Dragon Disciple 4.

Ranger 2 is to take Aspect of the Beast for permanent claws, however that causes me to lose access to 9th-level spells unless I go Wizard, and I'd prefer to go Sorc for Charisma synergy.

Any ideas to make this worthwhile?

EDIT: More details:

Ability Scores: 25 point buy, starting level 6

STR: 20(+2 racial, +1 level), DEX 12, CON 12, INT 12, WIS 11, CHA 14.
Race: Human, with Skill Focus replacing the standard bonus feat.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Are you allowed 3.5 transparency? Because then you could take three levels of the Hulking Hurler PrC, and destroy the planet.

Edit: There is no hyperbole here, an optimized HH can quite literally throw 1000+ d6's of damage. Also, don't do this, or you'll find yourself with a DM and party members that despise you.

If ridiculous strength is the aim, why not drop the dex and con to 10 and start at 20 strength?
Also, you could get claws by going alchemist - with mutagen offering even more strength (for a short while, sadly). More yet, if you're willing to sacrifice 9th level spells (because I would argue it adds little conceptually when FotD3 is 8th level) - dip Barbarian?
That said, to improve the Form issue - extend metamagic? At least gives you more minutes.

Really, assuming you very much want claws - I don't think it's possible to squeeze in 18 caster levels with that (and having DD) - unless you get it inherent to race, which means dropping human.
Course, what you really want to do with such raw power (and size) is wrestle everything. Screw all this silly sword swinging, roll in the mud!

Dotting for interest. And please do expand on that PrC LeesusFreak, It sounds hilarious.

Well, it based around the fact that the maximum damage it could deal was based off the creature's carrying capacity, which is easy to scale. Here's one of the many threads that have an outline of the absurd damage (scroll down to the post by FishAreWet).

In essence, you can literally throw things (such as the moon) and blow up planets. Its as insane as it sounds.

65919 damage. 9th level spells. So "Throw a mountain at it" is a valid plan now?

That's the average, using only 3.5 stuff. Now, toss on things like Pathfinder's Muleback Cords, and you're even more insane.

But yeah, if I was the DM and someone tried that, I'd have Pun-pun smite them immediately.

On a serious note, and to reply to OP, get a mount, a lance, and charge. Your damage will be silly. Factor in things like Spirited Charge, and you'll be one-shotting things.

But seriously, why engage in this kind of rocket tag? Are the other players gonna be as munchkin-y? Your DM may give you a 'rocks fall' scenario...

Can't be a wizard for dragon disciple, as it requires spontaneous casting (sorcerer, bard, summoner)

Rather than ranger, consider barbarian for raging (more Str!). Urban barbarian is very nice for this build due to controlled rage (all the Str, none of the drawbacks!)

As far as what to do when not polymorphed... Lesser / greater beast and leaser fiend totems, power attack, 2handed weapon, haste boots or spell... Pounce - weapon / weapon iteratives / weapon haste / bite / gore.

Don't worry about your lower BAB, you'll find your strength bonus more than makes up for it.

Also, fantastic Str = fantastic CMB. Improved Sunder and Improved Bull Rush are nice.

I've posted about DD builds several times on these boards. Check out my post history for more threads from people working on similar characters. You'll find a ton of advice from many different people in those threads.

Use the ACG new class Bloodrager. Qualifies for DD, get rage, gets claws while raging, and EH Abyssal to get the extra STR boosts.

19 Str, +6 Morale (bloodrage), +5 level, + 6 Inherent(orc/abyssal), +4 DD, +6 enhancement = 46 Str as 16 Bloodrager/4 DD. Counts as Barbarian Rage for purpose of feats/abilities, some of the really fun ones, and can be an Orc or Tiefling to get a bite attack to throw in the mix.

Form of the Dragon 2 later (around 16 IIRC).

Only 4 spell levels from a custom list, but 6 more points of Str than you were looking at.
