So I'm a new player to role-playing board games in general, and I'm looking to play as an alchemist. I have everything down and I think I can start playing once I am clear on this question. Do I need items/resources to make my bombs/extracts/potions/mutagens? The descriptions of the feats have left me unclear and the info I've found already on this forum has answered some of my questions but not this one. Do I need certain items like the "liquid catalyst" on my person before I craft any of my bombs, or is it just implied I'm well-enough supplied to make the bomb when I need it? The Alchemist page on www.d20pfsrd.com had this long section about processes and tools and recipes needed in order to craft an alchemical item, but I haven't been able to find any of these recipes. So I've just been confused with the large amount of contradicting information, and I'd love a straightforward answer. Thanks!

for Class abilities like bombs, mutagens, extracts you do not need resources that cost money. You are assumed to have the things you need for that.
potions are magic items and use magic item crafting rules
Alchemical items use the alchemy Craft skill.
Your gamemaster will be able to help with all of that.

You just need an item called an alchemy crafting kit, it's the alchemist equivalent of the spell component pouch. The kit has all you need for your class features, unless it lists a gold cost.
ALCHEMY CRAFTING KIT
Price 25 gp; Weight 50 lbs.An alchemist with an alchemy crafting kit is assumed to have all the material components needed for his extracts, mutagens, and bombs, except for those components that have a specific cost. An alchemy crafting kit provides no bonuses on Craft (alchemy) checks. (This item was called an “alchemist's kit” in the Advanced Player's Guide, and was renamed to avoid confusion with this book's pre-selected set of adventuring gear called an “alchemist's kit.”)
This is from Ultimate combat, please note that the weight is a mistake, it should be 5lbs (as it was in advanced players guide)
The class never actually says you need this (unlike the spell pouch example) but the description on the item sounds like your suppose to have this. Generally people buy it, so you might as well too, to avoid any issues. It helps preventing any weirdness later. If any infusions specify an extra cost you still need to pay for it (but. some GM's allow you to just remove the money and assume said item was in your crafting Kit. So be sure to ask your GM how you wanna play those sort of aspets.
