Would You Allow Other Prestige Classes to advance the SLAs of Lantern Bearer?

Advice

Say you got to Lantern Bearer, and wanted to take levels in another prestige class that advanced spellcasting, like Eldritch Knight. The question is whether you would allow the spellcasting boost from the second prestige class apply to the spells per day of the Lantern Bearer (the caster level is equal to your character level, so that point is moot).

I'm fairly certain it wouldn't work by RAW, even though "In all other ways, a spell-like ability functions just like a spell."

I'm more interested in the opinions of DMs here, and whether they would allow it, and why or why not?

I assume you're asking if a second prestige class would advance the lantern arcana ability? So a Ranger 5/LB 1/EK 8 would get all of the spells available from Lantern Arcana?

If that's the case, my answer is no. Lantern Bearers don't have a spells known list or a spells per day list. They have a class feature that lets them use some spells.

I'm not asking if it would as in, whether it's RAW; as said, I don't think there's much question that it wouldn't. I'm asking whether if a player asked you to let it work, you would do so. Whether it seems like it could be overpowered if it was allowed, that sort of thing.

I understood that. My answer would be no.

Okay, cool! When you said "I assume you're asking if a second prestige class would advance the lantern arcana ability?" I was confused, because that's not what I was asking.

I appreciate the input very much.
