In which Nihmon returns to find the entire settlement terrain replaced by sky and/or water.

Not Your Typical Lake of the Woods

Kinda sounds like a potential Disney movie. Or a Studio Ghibli flick distributed by Disney. "The Lake of the Woods". And everyone knows kids love Nihimon, so it's a blockbuster in the making.

Just like How to Train Your Dragon 2 should have been.

F+~!in' hell...Epic makes its budget threefold and Dragons 2 gets fifty people laid off...Frozen gets an AcWard and Dragons probably won't even get a gold star...

I forgot what we were talking about.

Just better hope there's no Cabin By The Lake In The Woods.

"of the Woods"

It's a weird little piece of the U.S. that sticks up into Canada in a most unsettling fashion.

I tried to ferry him to those buildings on my head, but we couldn't make it happen.

Based on the latency spikes and ground color, this was at a tile edge.

No, it's Canada to the east that sticks down in a fashion that I really. couldn't care less about, given that I can call the entire area "worthless tundra that really should belong to Canada anyway".

For fans of The West Wing, Donna Moss was born right there near Warroad, and lost her US citizenship for an evening during a border-dispute. Being Canadian didn't bother her except for the Secret Service not letting her attend the First Lady's birthday party :-).

West Wing was great, but that particular episode strained its credulity past the breaking point and shouldn't ever be used as an example of anything.

Which image, by the way, is about as far north of the U.S./Canada border as the entire length of the state of California. (my Home-town's slogan was "North of 54" A reference to the fact that had the U.S. not lost that particular war, we would have been Western Canada's southernmost city.)

(see "54 40 or Fight")

Ah yeah, same thing happened to me late last night. A whole hex more-or-less disappeared.

Hark! A Vagrant pretty much sums up my understanding of the War of 1812. :)
