I came across these comics recently, and thought they were a fun take on all those classic modules.The style is visceral, but well detailed and captures the "feel" of many of these old modules. I think it does a good job too of implying that in "old-school" D&D, adventurers were more large-team task forces than singular, heroic paragons. You got killed, we'll just send another bunch in after you.
I'm leaning towards the "Expedition to the Barrier Peaks" and "Ravenloft" as my favorites so far.
The cartoons are really fun; I've saved a copy of each so far. I love how the descriptions seem to capture the feel of playing through the adventures themselves (i.e. 1e mentality, and the 13-14 year old selves who seem to be behind the characters' decision making process).

That's why I enjoyed Expedition's tagline: "Adventurers explore a crashed spaceship built by a species of super intelligent beings who loved poisonous & deadly plants and animals."
I love those comics too. Tomb of Horror is a fav. Link in the OP is broken however.

I absolutely love these "blasts from the past" comics. They as sooo in tune with the old-school style of gaming and hilarious to boot.

Thanks for re-linking. I had done it before the D&D Next redo on Wizard's webpage and hadn't gone back for the new links yet.
Also - is it just me, or have the new layouts become more "tablet" friendly in terms of setup?
They do seem to have more of a "Windows 8" look about them (bleah)...
