Hide armor as light armor

Rules Questions

Is there a way to turn a hide armor into a light armor?
I'm playing a barbarian with the true primitive archetype and I'd like to move at full speed while wearing hide.

Thanks!

There is a light hide armor already -- it's called leather armor.

Not that I can recall, but the hide shirt is light though. It offers a +3 AC, a max dex of +4, and an -1 armor check penalty

In which I'm not proficient.

"A true primitive is proficient with hide armor and armors made from bone."

"Studded leather, scale mail, breastplates, and wooden shields can all be constructed using bone. Bone either replaces the metal components of the armor, or in the case of wooden shields, large pieces of bone or shell replace the wood.

Bone armor has hardness 5 and has the fragile armor quality. Masterwork bone armor also has the fragile quality, but magic bone armor does not. The armor/shield bonus of bone armor is reduced by 1, but in the case of studded leather, the armor check penalty is also reduced by 1 (to 0). Magically strengthened bone does not have the fragile quality or reduced armor/shield bonus."

Bone studded leather is +2 AC, +5 MDB and 0 ACP
Bone scale mail is +4 AC, +3 MDB and -4 ACP
Bone breastplate is +5 AC, +3 MDB and -3 ACP
Hide armor is +4 AC, +4 MDB and -3 ACP and I can attach a trophy to gain a morale bonus to saves.

These are all the armors I'm proficient in.

If it was my game I'd tell you that a hide shirt is hide armor, as is Dragon Hide armor - but as for RAW you may be out of luck.

Darkleaf Cloth is an option.

It does not change the category though.

Is this for a home game or a PFS character?

This is for a home game...
I wanted to be faster but on second thought, I'm probably safer being slower, since I'm also a wild rager and I'd rather let my teammates flee if I turn against them :D

Mithral chain shirt. Not proficient? Who cares.

Until your teammates can afford to buy the mithral chain shirt for you and persuade you to wear it, you're gonna have to wear the hide armour. Suck it up - that's the point of the true primitive archetype.

Between Armor Expert Trait, Mithral, and, if necessary, Comfort enchantment, you can get a lot of armors Armor Check Penalty down to 0, which means you can wear it without proficiency but with no drawback.

Easiest way to do it would be Mithral Shirt, which is -0 ACP out of the box. Mithral Breastplate I believe is also -0 ACP out of the box. Mithral Full Plate can be done with the trait and the comfort enchantment to have a -0 ACP.

Unless I'm wrong, and Mithral doesn't stack with the Masterwork quality for reducing ACP. Then the Full Plate caps at -1, and Mithral Breastplate requires the trait. But I'm pretty sure they stack.

"Mithral Breastplate I believe is also -0 ACP out of the box."

Mithral breastplate has -1 ACP. Mithral armour is inherently masterwork, so you don't get the masterwork benefit on top.

With armour expert trait, the mithral breastplate's ACP would reduce to 0.

The problem is that he can only use one of his class abilities with his proficient armors. The one to attach fetiches to the armor.

For most martials, 30 feet IS considered full speed. :)
