Something mentioned off-handedly a while back on the boards ... been tinkering with it, but I'm trying to determine the most efficient (or more like 'least inefficient') way to go about it.
For those unfamiliar with the character, here's the primary ability list:
1. Agile/Acrobatic.
2. Good unarmed combatant.
3. Stealthy (ability to go invisible and/or teleport short distances?)
4. Crystal-based ranged attacks.
#4 requires DSP's psionics, since AFAIK there are no crystal-shooting spells. Unfortunately, the crystal powers are only on the Psion list, so I either need to take psion levels, or use Feats on acquiring off-class powers.
So, some combo of Psion/Monk/Psychic Fist (oh, the sucky BAB), or Psychic Warrior (Meditant) or Soulknife (Gifted Blade/Deadly Fist) ... thoughts?

It's a level 9 power ... I'd rather get that trademark ability a little earlier than that, if possible. :)
If you use the spellcasting services cost, it'd cost 1,530 gp to pay someone else to cast it for you, and would be available at a metropolis. Of course, finding a specific psion capable of casting that and trustworthy enough not to mess with your brain, then convincing a high-level psion to waste 10 minutes and 17 pp for a relatively paltry sum of gold is likely to be much more difficult than simply going to a city.
Still probably easier than waiting until level 17.

When it comes to anime it's hard to go wrong with a Synthesist Summoner. You can even do a digivolution(?) cutscene while you're doing the 1 minute suit up.
Though for Psionics I'd suggest taking a look at the Aegis class. It's basically a toned down Synthesist. Especially the Crystal Warrior archetype that comes with a built in crystal shooting ranged attacks. The Aberrant archetype could work as well. That starts off with some unarmed damage and just think of the Spikes customization option as shooting crystals.

Why not just reflavor ice spells as crystals?
They'd still do cold damage ... plus, I think there's even fewer options for mixing spellcasting and unarmed combat than psionics, with no PrC combos in PF materials.

Also, I'm sorry those are the only furies you've met. :( They're not representative of the fandom at all. The only people who are vocal about it are precisely the people who shouldn't be.

That's kind of the problem. And anyone willing to try and make people have a different opinion are the wrong people to do it. Which is why all the bad eggs end up on TV.

Holy crap is the Aegis complicated.
I haven't looked into the psionics stuff, but it does seem like the best path to go with for creating Renamon. And someone mentioning creating her (Renamon had a female voice in the show, so to me Renamon is female) as an eidolon... that would be something interesting to do, if you can find a GM that doesn't outright ban the class.
As for the whole digimon have no genders (I still remember that episode), I refuse to accept that. Why? Because Angewomon (plus Sakuyamon [renamon's mega form] also has a female body, and I think there was a male version as an alternate digivolution form, similar to Guilmon's 2 variant mega forms. Could be wrong but I swear I had a card of that).
Yes, I watched the show during my high school/college years. First 3 seasons, anyway. Nothing to be ashamed of.
Also, not all furries are like that, Blackbloodtroll. And most are reluctant to mention they are furries or have any form of association with it because people's immediate assumptions about the fandom are so vehemently negative due to TV and ESPECIALLY the internet (and even more specifically, the troll sites like 4chan and such). And then there are the cripplingly socially handicapped people like those you said you have come across. Of course, there are those kinds of people in every nerd fandom. Of course, the furry stereotype is the only nerd stereotype that goes against the universal one: furries are supposedly super sex-crazed people who bang each other all the time, where normal nerds are forever virgins.
But, that's enough derailing of Zhayne's thread. I think a kitsune Aegis (I think that's the class) may be the way to go. I know nothing about the psionic races, but I say kitsune because Renamon is a fox.
I think of the Digimon genders like Transformers 'genders'. Yeah, they're shaped in typically male or female shapes, but they don't reproduce sexually, so it's merely cosmetic.
Anyway ... the Synthesist and Aegis both look insanely complicated to me, and I'd feel dirty playing a Synthesist, so those are something of a last resort.
Yup, she did in the English, the Japanese was a lil less clear cut (vague answer and she often switchs gender tone language when she's acting nice to Rika). I'd be fine with that in most cases and in tamers. but in the manga,games, and the later anime they refer as a she and the renamons use female pronouns (though i haven't played the games or watched the anime after S4 in English so no clue). A renamon shows up in about half the later games and in the background of some series, since she was insanely popular in tamers.
Probably convenience. There isn't a gender-neutral pronoun that English speakers can agree on. Cursory research shows that Japanese doesn't either.
