Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

One thing I noticed as a player of Harsk with a Venomous Dagger and a Venomous Heavy Crossbow in his deck: the Stone Heads surprisingly don't share the Mental and Poison immunities commonly found in nonliving creatures (undead and construct). Is that correct?

They aren't undead, which is usually what bring the Mental and Poison immunities.

And I think construct has a particular meaning in Pathfinder. What we've see on a lot of constructs is "You may not play spells with the Attack trait." But I actually think that is a Golem attribute. Its just that most of the constructs we've seen in RotR have also been golems. Skull Ripper is a construct that is not a golem, and lacks the prohibition against spells with the attack trait.

So I don't think the Stone Heads are Undead nor Constructs (and they definitely aren't Golems). I think what you are doing when you encounter them is basically opening up the passage to the Runeforge area and they are some kind of big lock mechanism (I think something like that is even on the Scenario card). And you can open each Stonehead by magic (i.e. bury a spell), by triggering their lock (i.e. disable) or by simply destroying them (i.e. combat check). So the traits of the check that destroys them don't really matter.

But that is all guesswork on my part.

I interpreted it the same way. In fact, you'll notice their type isn't "monster", but "barrier".

I just found it really odd that my dagger or crossbow bolt don't get damaged when I put poison on them, but that same poison is able to do damage to a rock :-)

Most poisons aren't corrosive so why would you expect them to damage the weapon, especially with a crossbow where the poison is on the bolt, not the bow itself? The best way to view that particular example is that the poison interferes with the magic that is animating them, and that is why they die from it. An undead thing has nothing for the poison to react with which is why it isn't effective, and in the game, that is what is doing the damage (why a bolt from a crossbow wouldn't do something to a zombie is beyond me but these are the rules of this game).

Spoilers from the tabletop adventure:

Spoiler:
The stone heads are more like locks than creatures. They are inanimate stone heads, each with a key stored inside. You can open them by casting the appropriate spells, or by "picking" the lock, or by bashing them to pieces. Spells are by far the easiest method.
