So currently i am playing an 8th lvl cleric in a rise of the rune lords game. We have a small group (rogue and a fighter/monk/soon to be dualist) so with only 3 of us its been getting a little dicey. I came across the MT PrC and thought if i could cheese into it that it would perhaps benefit the party. I cant seem to figure a way to get into it without getting 3 lvls of wizard and i would much rather only have to take a 1 lvl dip. I am a dwarf and have travel and luck domains.
Any advice/cheese available? Or should i just stick out cleric and hope for the best?

I can probably get away with 3rd party materials if i can make a good arguement but dont think he will let me change my character around too much.
If you cant change around your character, there isnt an easy way to do it. The trick generally comes from the fact that spell like abilities count as spells of their level for the purpose of qualifying for prestige classes the Faq explains this pretty clearly.
But given you are a dwarf, and already cleric 8, there isnt really a way to sneak into MT that I know of.
The normal route is trickery domain (copycat gives you Mirror image a 2nd level spell) then 3 levels of wizard, then on to MT. Or one of the races that grant access to a 2nd level spell as a spell like ability (tiefling, asimar, etc) and then arcane caster 1/cleric3). If you cant do that, you are going to need 3 levels of wizard, which will be a very big power drop, especially since you are already relatively high level. You dont want to be effectively still an 8th level cleric dealing with 11th level challenges in an adventure path with a small party.
