Alternate Spellbooks viable in Pathfinder ?

Advice

This is one of those threads I wasn't sure where to stick...so the advice forum is always my fall back.

In Complete Arcane (3.5) they gave options for "alternate" spellbooks that I found useful for meeting the flavor of many spellcasters who where a bit different from the stereotypical "civilized scholarly" wizard.

Anyone see any reason that they couldn't just as easily be used for Pathfinder ???

This is a thing.

At first I was wondering how I had missed that...then realized it's third party.

Useful, and I thank you for that...but it's not exactly what I was talking about....for example....

Tattoos: The wizard tattoos his spellbook directly on his body, often using sigils or "bind runes" (so that it takes up a lot less space) making himself a living spellbook.

Tokens: The wizard engraves the information on to wooden rods, skins or bones, that he then wears hanging from his belt cord, or maybe even embroiders them into the lining of his garments.

The mecanic is about the same, as long as it take x page per spell lv at x cost per page. All the rest is flavor in description. That is as i see it
