I have a long time Skype gaming group, for which our current game is coming to an end on the 31'st. We've discussed what we wish to play after it ends, and decided on the Skull & Shackles AP. Unfortunately, of our group, each of us is either burnt out on GM'ing, busy with other projects, inexperienced, or some combination thereof. And so, we reach out to you, gaming community, in search of a GM.
We tend to use Skype for voice OOC, with some form of mapping program (MapTool, Roll20, etc) for the game itself. Right now we're gaming on Saturday nights, though we have SOME flexibility.

We're looking for someone not only to run a game, but to join our little group. We use our Skype group chat every day to chat about personal lives and gaming and have deep philosophical discussions (no, I'm not kidding), and we're looking for someone who is going to stick around and be a part of the conversation when a game isn't in session.
As such, what we're really looking to do is meet and talk to any potential new member, to see if it's a good fit before moving forward.
Well, you've my preliminary interest. Although, you guys particular set on Skulls and Shackles? I only ask because I've read up on the book some, and its hard to enjoy long term unless you're REALLY into pirates. I wouldn't wanna sign on for something I couldn't get psyched for.
Also. I suck at Pirate accents. Argh.

When S&S was suggested, the whole group jumped on it pretty hard. A couple of us have already written up characters, simply awaiting a GM for the final bits of information needed to complete them...
Nothing is set in stone, of course, but some might be resistant to abandoning a character.
No, I totally get that. Hmm... Could I do Skulls and Shackles? Probably. I mean, I'm a bloody History Major- Victorian Golden Age of Pirates? Random philosophic discussions? Poorly timed pirate innuendo!?
Though, it might be good to get a better feel for the group. How many people would I be DMing? What are yours guys levels of experience? How do you guys normally DM? I admit, I might be a little inexperienced compared to some old salts~
5 confirmed, 2 possible additions. The least experienced player has been playing for over a year and a half, the most experienced has over 10 years.
As for HOW we DM, I'm not sure what exactly you are asking. We don't mind inexperience, so long as it doesn't become a crutch for laziness.
I admit, a 7 man group would be fairly intimidating, particularly without knowing any of em beforehand. As to that, welp,

How much do you guys typically emphasis on combat versus RP?
What adventure paths has your group already done? What are you finishing up now?
Should I expect everyone to power-build, or are you guys more into flavor building? Do you guys typically do one of the point buys, or do you prefer rolling scores?

I doubt both possibles will join up, but I won't rule anything out (also, S&S has a reputation for being absolutely lethal, so...)
1. House rules don't generally come up, but that's a GM thing, really...
2. We've been known to just roleplay for hours on end, even running entire sessions without seeing a combat encounter. That said, we enjoy a good smackdown as much as the next group.
3. We haven't officially played an AP through. We started one once, before our former GM decided to abandon us.
4. Yes. Just...yes. To all of it.
I wasn't aware of S&S having been reputed to be particularly lethal. It was always Carrion Crown that seems to draw the ire of being the most spectacularly destructive.
Well, seems if nothing else I wouldn't have to worry about breaking tradition. And I promise not to abandon ya short of medical emergency, tornado, power outage, getting kicked out of my house, or generally dead. Without having a Ghost replacement DM. So. Yeah.
Tell me about the five I'll be playing with? I assume you'll be one of them? :3 Personalities? The characters they wanna play? Quirks? Things I should watch out for? xD
Perhaps it might be better simply to speak with us on Skype and get a feel for them?
