2 people marked this as a favorite.

Hello we are a motley band or hopefully likeable rogues who fell in together in recruitment for another campaign. We are seeking a GM to run Gestalt post apocalyptic campaign. We already have the group. We just need you.... everyone say high and introduce yourselves please.....

Howdy!

Gortech the Giant slayer looking for a glorious death signing in!

I'd recommend everyone adding backgroung back into their aliases, could be useful.

Dark Archive

Hi,

There are 4 of you? Are these the aliases for the game?

I think theres up to 6, and yup these are the aliases (minus background, we were told to keep it secret for RP reasons, can be fixed easily)
And here is Rebnal the Barmaid

Sorry got cass was on the accepted list she just read it wrong lol.

And yes these are our alias felt for Rebnal she was waiting to be accepted before putting up the alias....

And hi Nightflier. Been awhile sir.

Dark Archive

Okay, I'm looking at the setting and your characters right now.

Dark Archive

@DArius

Indeed it has. Past year or so was quite challenging for me. First I got diabetes type 2, than I had to change my apartment in the middle of a terrible winter, in February, than I was in danger of losing my job, than country-wide floods destroyed internet infrastructure. All the while I couldn't log on to Paizo. Now it seems that ISPs changed something when the new infrastructure came online, and I can once again log on without any problems. So, good to be back.

Okay, to be honest I feel that I am not suited to run a game in this world and with these characters.

If you are willing to create new characters, I am prepare to run a game for you in either my own homebrew or in some established setting. If you decide to play in my world, you will use my house rules completely, which means my races and classes, and if you decide to game in some other setting, we will use standard PF.

I will provide you a document with my house rules, so you can decide about it, but right now I know two things about character creation that I know for sure.

1) You will use the following array for abilities:

18, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12

2) You will choose only one class for your character, but you will receive 1 bonus feat each level.

If you want to continue with these characters and try to find another GM, no hard feelings. :)

Nightflier's Houserules

The character is Harumi, and my name is spelled Rednal. With a 'd'. XD

Guys, I'm gonna open my own recruitment thread, to avoid confusion and to post all the important stuff in the first post.

Okay guys the question is do we want to wait on someone else to keep the setting the same and the gestalt or wait and see what nightflier has?

I'm for Keeping setting, and gestalt.

Dark Archive

Okay, my recruitment thread is up. Take a look if you're interested.

Okay that's one vote for setting and gestalt anyone else?

I guess I would like to keep this character in this setting, but that shouldn't stop us from rolling new characters in nightflier's recruitment.

That's what I'm doing lol.

Any other GMs who are willing?

One can only hope. XD

Any takers?

Well this character is not going anywhere (and he just hit 10 posts ^-^) even if he dosent get in a game in this iteration, his idea will not die :)
As for that other game, im all for it! let me dive into that!

I could potentially run something cept there's a couple of forseeable issues:

1) I don't have a huge amount of time to write plots or setting info

2) My idea of "post-apocalyptic" varies a little from what has already been defined.

3) That would give us only three players as a party.

I think it'll be a little more than 3 players, 6 players have posted here

So true lol.

Any GMs willing to take up the group?

I'll take a look, if you'll be patient and give me a couple of days.

Edit: Hmmm apparently I am not smart enough to find the information that Nightflier was looking at. Would someone be so kind as to provide me a link to the campaign information?

Here

Though there isn't much

Okay, this is what I've learned so far.

There is a good amount of information about who you are, where you are, and why things are the way they are

Your character builds are splendid

The setting is interesting (I will, if you select me as your DM, modify it a tiny little bit)

But, there is not a lot of information about what is going to drive the adventure, other than trying to survive

So I would do this

I would tie this adventure into two of my existing games so that the plots overlap, and possibly introduce cross dimensional actions so that these characters could cross post into those games

Those games will be

Strangler of the Shadow Moor

And

Reflections in the Eye of the Beholders

Also this game would be connected to two ended games

The Castaways
And
The Gion Cover Up

Your chacters would be involved in adventures requiring them to survive and prevent the ultimate destruction of multiple realities

Would there be a huge amount of crossing or would it just be a possible option?

I'm personally not too keen on jumping across multiple tables consistently.

Same question and same personal view on jumping

I don't really mind jumping around, though I'd prefer to have plenty of times in-between jumps. XD I'll go with the majority opinion on it, though.

Let's see, I believe the original outline was for characters to try and find a way to restore magic...? Something as simple as "the world literally needs magic to survive and will be destroyed/uninhabitable/mutating wildly/etc." might provide long-term motivation and a goal. ^^ You could probably tie that into protecting multiple realities if the original problem on Earth was that bad.

Also, the way the original recruitment was set up leaves us with a serious lack of divine caster applicants. I have a back-up paladin character concept somewhere that I could run instead of Durran. I'll leave the decision ultimately up to the rest of the group though.

More jumping = More corruption! ;D

After thinking about it, I am going to back away. This is probably something I would not do well.

Could the PCs tell me a bit about what the setting/background is? If I had more information, I could make a decision on whether it's my thing or not. And hello, hello to any of you that know me!

I SEE TSP AND I'S LITTLE BUDDY GOBO HORDE IS HERE! REDNAL TOO! :D I'm waiting for another 53 minutes to see if anyone else checks in before posting for our fledgling gods! ^_^

Setting is pretty much a Mad Max and or Fist of the North Star setting.

Suspicion for non humans and magic use. Otherwise, yeah pretty mad maxish. Or pathfinder meets fallout sort of.

What about technology? What caused the apocalypse? What is the area you were planning to start in like?

So may the world both freeze and burn to make up for the atrocities of man.

Only sixty years. That’s how long it takes for us to forget who we are. That’s how long it takes for any semblance of how we used to live, think, and die to be extinguished. Problems that were once grouped into politics and controversy have become grounded in survival. Laws no longer govern people and only fear is guaranteed safe travel across the wastes.

The Earth was once a thriving place. The populace was concerned with environmental issues, political relationships, the welfare of the less fortunate, and were fed lies from the media to frighten the masses. The reality was much more docile. While governments did lie to their people and corruption was present, the ideals and intentions were pure. Things had gotten so easy for the masses, that they almost needed the lies to give themselves something to worry about. The United States had spent over 250 of the final years as a world power and, with the help other world powers, had achieved much of what had been dreamed of at the creation of the nation. The creation of a nation that was inspired by thousands of years of human, elven, dwarven, and all of the other races’ combined philosophy, science, and civil rights. A nation that would lead the rest of the world down the same road of advancement that allowed the greatest minds from each race and nationality to truly bring the world to the pinnacle of achievement and it seemed as if there was no end in sight. Yet the people of the world were afraid of war that seemed ever on the horizon.

Only sixty years. That’s how long it took to forget it all. That’s how long after the mysterious magical wave took it all away for it to became clear that it would all just start over.

The Earth had reached the pinnacle of achievement. It was the year 2024 when what is referred to as 'the fall' occurred. Though the world was at war with itself, as it always was, things seemed to be getting more and more peaceful. Fewer people were dieing violent deaths, life expectancies were climbing (even among elves), and starvation across the globe was beginning to finally dwindle into nothingness. A utopia was in the making. Then it all abruptly slid to a halt. That was sixty-four years ago.

Now, the Earth is a wasteland. In many places, vegetation and wild-animals have been able to recover but most of the civilized world lies in rubble. Very little is known about the nature of the explosion that caused the end of the world. What is known is that it killed anything with magic in its blood and laid waste to most things that didn't. By that time magic had become an integral part in the world's technology and it all came crashing down. The few that survived were scarred and struggled for survival. So the world has been for the past sixty-four years.

The connection the world has to the 'Weave', the colloquial term for the alternate plain of existence from which all magic originates, has been severed. Magic has ceased to exist and much of the world has began denying it ever existed or fear what it could do since most of what was passed down from Generation Zero, those who were alive during the magical purge, has been turned into nothing but hatred for the medium used to create the hell they must endure.

Now the gods can only hope that a group of Wasteland Wanderers will rise to get the world started again. And so our story begins in a small town in central Tennessee.

So no technology at all? It seems that all tech is tied in with magic, from my understanding. I was curious because I have rules for technology and recently purchased a book on a customizable Synthetic race. Lots of really cool stuff for a post-apocalyptic setting!

Pretty much no tech or low tech

I get the feeling that some basic tech exists (vehicle chase scenes were mentioned, implying cars... and enough technology to at least keep them in running order), but yeah, it's probably not on the level of computers.

Hmmm... let me think on this a bit. I'm about to cash in for the night, but hopefully I will have an answer to you later.

I'm still here just buried in work.... and yeah its not so much that tech doesnt work as when the event happened it took down the grid and the net. And most people who know how high tech stuff works and can make it arent the sort to survive long enough for people to help them get to the places they need to rebuild it. Not with asshats looting and going crazy and stuff. At least that's what I felt when I read it. Like my guy is a tech type guy and was alive then he could build a nonmagic power plant if he could get the help he needs doing it with primitive to him gear.

Dark Archive

Everyone still here?

I am
