Lay on hands and channel energy modification. Is it good.

Homebrew and House Rules

I was thinking about modifying Lay on hands and channel energy to instead of giving you 1d6 every 2 levels you can heal a number of times per day equal to your charisma modifier + half your level to a pool of dice equaling 1d6 per 2 levels times your charisma + half your level. So a character at level 2 who is a pally with an 18 charisma would have a poll of 5d6 of dice to use instead of 1d6 5 times a day, same goes for a cleric channeling.

So basically you can expend all your uses of the abilities at once to burst-heal someone? I don't think it would be too powerful in the long run, but this would be a major action economy boon during combat and would allow a cleric/paladin to make their party win a fight by simply out-sustaining the enemy, which is something many players and GMs would not like very much.

I think it could get a little crazy with negative channel and channel strike though.

Don't see the point. Channel isn't supposed to be a major feature, and neither does it need to be. You might have a feat that lets you expend 2 uses at once for double effect, but I wouldn't go further than that.

It's a bit meta as a cleric should not be able to know exactly how damaged each of his companions are without making a heal check to diagnose each one. It overall makes healing better. More control plus the ability to heal in a huge burst. Also a cleric could blow them all at one point and deal twice his level plus cha d6 damage to all indeed in 30 ft that is overpowered.

I would restrict it to using no more dice then your level at 1 time.
