Rise of the Runelord PBP looking for new GM

Recruitment

We've been playing for several months. I have time to *play* a pbp but I don't have time to *run* a daily PBP.

We've barely cut through the surface of the AP but we've been going for three months. This is one of those parties you dream about. Each member is a great role player and excited about daily (weekday) posting. They also understand and love the pathfinder system.

We've gotten into a stride that works. We have a way we do things that we would love to pass along but if you have ways you'd like to do things that you've tried and work, we'd be glad to change. If a GM would like to take on for me and work with a great group, this where to do it!

I have all of the maps and tokens for Burnt Offerings laid out in our roll20 already. I would transfer GMship to you. I don't know if I've been pacing it wrong but at the rate we've been going that's probably a year's worth of material!

Myth-Weavers for character sheets.
Google groups for posting.
Roll20 for combat.

Might be interested. Would it be possible to have a link to gaming thread? Either give link to the group or copy paste a series of posts from the players?

Message me your email. I'll put you in the group. I have exactly what you're looking for already set up and stickied on our google group.

BTW, I saw a post of yours where you promoted the value of role play within your campaigns. This group is phenomenal. They're certainly better than I am with it.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a better group. We're down a single player at the moment but they have somebody they may bring in. If not, recruitment will be up for one more.

Done.

Also, I am showing interest mostly because your group seems to play in a way that interests me. I guess I will see by myself soon!

Celtic didn't work out. If anyone else is interested, this is back open!

Bump!

This is still active.

I might be interested. Old GM new to PbP. I haven't run a campaign on the boards yet. Let me sleep on it.

I might be interested.

I've already runned this campaign on a tabletop game, so I'm kite familiar with it.

Can you message me more information about it?

I can most certainly give you more information. Please email me your email so I can invite you to take a look at our posts.

The short version is this: (If you're one of my players, don't look.)

Spoiler:
We run on google groups although that is mutable. The party is rule-friendly and filled with four great role-players. To speed the game alone we run with two parallel threads: Additional encounters and the main story. The only additional encounter we haven't run is The Shopkeep's Daughter. I'm going to run this with somebody via email with the main group none the wiser.

So far nobody has died in one that was happening prior relative to the other. If it occurs it is going to be the biggest piece of deus ex machina to explain but it still cuts months out of the AP and we find it worth it.

Currently the party is about to embark on their boar hunt with aldern as well as meet shelalu (sp?) the night before the Ameiko is kidnapped. We just had an 8 day period of laid-back so people could exercise their characters, stop feeling so pushed along, and see a few more faces of Sandpoint and truly feel they're spending time there.

This will be (mostly) resolved by the time anyone takes over as GM:
One plot twist: While Lonjiku came in and yelled at Ameiko he mentioned to the PCs that he was a noble and his glassworks built Sandpoint from an economic view (He used different words). The halfling rogue has decided to investigate the glassworks in the middle of the night. He's gone as far as to pick the back lock. I'm granting him +8 stealth against any passers by due to the waves and the noise of the furnace. We're going to skype the rest tomorrow.

What's going to happen is he's going to walk in to find a dead Lonjiku and Ameiko being knocked out by a Half-Elf of whom he has never heard in a room of goblins. Opening the door will be his announcement of arrival and after a surprise round, he will be pursued. He has a 20 movement, Tsuto and the 8 goblins have 30. The +8 stealth outside gives him a case of "nobody can hear you scream."

I contemplated player death because I can but due to the investment of the players into the characters, I'm going to have him roll up a new character once he's inevitably "doomed". Since this is off-timeline he will still be present with the party for the meeting with Shelalu (Sp?) and then when everyone wakes up, he will not be with them.

If he gets away: No big deal. It just skips finding Tsuto's note. If he doesn't, as I said, he makes a new character... but I'll have him wake up tied in a closet, possibly with Ameiko. The player will be pleased to still be alive and his section would be run via email until he rejoined the larger group.

The latest:

They are about to start boar hunting with Aldern in our "additional encounters" thread. They are about to be briefed by Shalelu in our main thread.

Our only tricky bit at the moment:

The rogue explored the glass works in the middle of the night on his own and is now Tsuto's captive. Several windows in the furnace room are broken. I'm going to allow him to wake as the PCs wake, albeit tied up. I'll be running his section via email until the party links up with him.
I need to decide if anyone notices the extra noise due to the broken windows not muffling the furnace. If this happens, it would trigger the glassworks to occur at night.

I'm still looking.

Still looking. Shalelu is about to brief them on the greater sandpoint goblin situation, the boar hunt combat starts tmr. Next up: glassworks.

How many players do you have and what part of burnt offerings are you can on?

Four players: Fighter, Rogue, Summoner, Cleric

I run two events at once: the maine quest and additional encounters.
My logic is that the additional encounters, while nice, would be much less nice since they would simply eat time without contributing much to the overall story.

In the main story they have met Shalelu. She is about to brief them on the goblins of the area.

In the additional encounters we've done all of them except the boar hunt (which we're on) and the shopkeeper's daughter.

The only piece of off-book adventure thats happened: The rogue went alone (in a third event that takes place after the briefing with shalelu) to the glassworks for mischief. He ended up being taken captive by Tsuto.
A few windows to the furnace room are shattered. When the main party wakes (right before they're found by the barmaid who is worried about a missing ameiko) he will wake in the basement of the glassworks. The main party, the actual players, have no idea about this. They will have no clue where their fourth member is and he and I will perform his actions via private message until they all link up.

jimibones83 was hoping to incorporate my group into two that he has running but they would like to stick together. That means we're still looking.

Still looking.

Shalelu just finished the long-winded speech. Up next: Glassworks.

I've sent a private message to you with my email some days ago. Still waiting your answer :)
