Hey all, so we're starting a gestalt campaign in a couple of months, so I've got time to come up with concepts. One concept I've been thinking of doing is a Half-Orc Paladin/Sorcerer (orc/draconic crossblooded) who later on go DD 10. A few questions.
1. I like the idea of a natural attack based thing. The DM ruled that draconic claws can be permanent (not 3+Cha times a day or whatever). What could I do to make that viable?
2. Which of the base classes should I take to 20 whilst I sub the other one for DD? I'm thinking Paladin since DD sort of advances Sorc at the same time anyways.
3. Does the 'DD spellcasting progression' advance both paladin and sorc spellcasting levels?
4. If I were to be leveling both DD and sorc at the same time, would the bloodline progression from DD be useless, or would it proceed draconic powers while Sorc levels would progress Orc bloodline powers?
Anyways, those are basic ideas for now. Would y'all consider this a decent gestalt idea? Any feat or equipment ideas? All help would be appreciated, thanks.

Add 1 level of Lore Oracle (Branded or Legalistic curse), the AC and (stacking with the paladin's) Reflex Save increase will be insane. On level 20 you should be DD10-Sorcerer 7-Paladin 2-Oracle 1. You will be able to cast Form of the Dragon II, smite things and have loaded Saves & AC. Add a Robe of Arcane Heritage and your Sorcerer level for bloodline powers will be 21..! I am playing one such character and giving a lot of hurt already. Be crossblooded too (Abyssal & Draconic) as it advances both Bloodlines!
Being crossblooded asks question 1. Double time for claws ;)
2. DD only advances sorcerer casting.
Items to consider:
Cloak of Fangs
Amulet of Mighty Fists (Holy, Spell-Storing, Keen, Bane)
Quick Runner's Shirt
Belt of Giant Strength
Headband of Alluring Charisma
Jingasa of the Fortunate Soldier
+1 Spell-Storing Armored Kilt (or silken ceremonial armor), later add Determination.
Boots of Speed
Ring of Feather Falling
If your DM allows custom slot items, Gloves of Natural Armor & Armwraps (bracers) of Mighty Strikes.

We are talking about one of my favorite characters, I will do my best to answer.
1. I like the idea of a natural attack based thing. The DM ruled that draconic claws can be permanent (not 3+Cha times a day or whatever). What could I do to make that viable?
This is also how we ruled my character's claws working. High strength helps, but honestly it's not as important as a fun character (my char is a kobold and gets -4 str). Power attack is almost mandatory. You will at some point want a mighty fist neckpiece.
2. Which of the base classes should I take to 20 whilst I sub the other one for DD? I'm thinking Paladin since DD sort of advances Sorc at the same time anyways.
Yes, I think of the dragon Disciple as an archetype of sorcerer. You give up some magic casting for some more melee friendly buffs and some cool dragon abilities. So at the end you should be a paladin 20/Sorc 10/DD 10. I suggest getting the trait that let's your caster level get a +2 up to your max hit die. This will keep your spells at the same power they would be if you went strait sorcerer until really late in the game.
3. Does the 'DD spellcasting progression' advance both paladin and sorc spellcasting levels?
No, it only progresses the spontaneous arcane spellcaster (the sorcerer)
4. If I were to be leveling both DD and sorc at the same time, would the bloodline progression from DD be useless, or would it proceed draconic powers while Sorc levels would progress Orc bloodline powers?
The crossblooded bloodlines progress together. So, you have the bloodline of your sorcerer levels + DD levels. At each point (1,3,9,15,20) you pick one of the bloodlines you qualify for. If you chose not to take a bloodline that the dragon disciple's abilities improve from, you will simply not get that improvement. We would rule that your bloodline level would never be above your character level if you chose to go paly 10/DD 10, so that would be wasted.
Anyways, those are basic ideas for now. Would y'all consider this a decent gestalt idea? Any feat or equipment ideas? All help would be appreciated, thanks.
I may be a little biased, but I think it's one of the best. It needs some decent stats (you want high str high cha and good con at the least), but it is really versatile and strong. Lay on hands and Smite are an awesome addition to the Sorcerer/DD. The full BAB and the bonus to saves are nice bonuses as well.
