Rogue Sneak Attack

Rules Questions

Question: A level 5 twf rogue has 1 attack per round, but is attacking with two weapons. Obviously the twf rogue gets one attack per weapon with a penalty, but does the level 5 twf rogue also get sneak attack dice per weapon wielded?

Thanks!

The Rogue gets sneak attack damage on any attack which meets the conditions -- that the target is flanked or denied its Dex bonus.

Liberty's Edge

Assuming they would otherwise get sneak attack, yes. When you move up to improved two-weapon fighting, you'll get four attacks a round, with the possibility of four sneak attacks. Sneak attack applies on each individual attack you make, which is why going for as many attacks as possible (two-weapon fighting) is a common strategy for rogues/ninjas/etc....

Now, if you're dropping out of invisibility or something like that, then no, you're only getting the sneak attack on the first hit.

A lvl 5 rogue has a bab of +3. He gets 1 attack. If he has the twf feat he can make 2 attacks at +1. Sneak attack applies to any attack that meets the cpnditions to sa.

Sczarni

Provided each attack meets the criteria for Sneak Attack the TWF rogue would get Sneak Attack twice.

For example:

A level 5 rogue using two short swords is flanking his foe. He does a full attack. Each attack deals 1d6 for the short swords and an extra 3d6 for the Sneak Attack (going from memory here; I believe level 5 provides 3d6 sneak attack dice)

Conversely.

The level 5 rogue has invisibility cast upon them. He stealth's up next to the BBEG (who has already acted and is not flat-footed) and launches a full attack. In this scenario only the first attack would get Sneak Attack dice.

Note that the first attack would break regular invisibility or Stealth, so in those situations the later attacks would not benefit from those abilities. But if the rogue is flanking or if the target is flat-footed or otherwise Dex-to-AC-denied independent of the rogue's observability, Bob's your uncle.
