Want to add some flavor that isn't just min-maxing? Build your character's background randomly from the Ultimate Campaign Character Background chapter. The life events of your character's youth is what opens up trait options. You'll end up with only 3-8 traits that can be chosen, and you go from there.

take magical knack so that when you pick up evangelist you'll still have your CL maxed out. for your second one... glory of old never hurts.

with 15 points, and due to his intention of surprising us with an AP, don't know which one yet. I went
Str 15, Dex 12, Int 12, Wis 12 (14 after racial), Con 10 (12 after racial), cha 12 (10 after racial).
The higher int, so that I can have more than 2 skills. I find sitting on the sideline, boring in the skill challenges.
I Intend (if my character survives) to get craft wonderous item, so that I can make up for the shortcomings, in the stats. :)

Fate's Favored is a wonderful trait for War Priests. +1 to all luck bonuses means that you are an additional +1/+1 whenever casting Divine Favor.
Having a 12 CHA would help a lot for getting more buffs up and running. The extra +1 to social skills may help your skills situation too. Bump WIS to 14 at level 4 and you will be off to the races.
S: 14 D: 12 C: 12 I: 12 W: 13 Ch: 12 (15 pt dwarf)
War Priests don't need too high of stats in general to do fairly well. That's due to the ability to buff up with swift actions.
Strength and Healing make for two pretty good "domains".

@ Rory, I will take the advice on the stats, but torag doesn't have healing, or strength. :)
Thinking of Protection, for the saves, and not sure what else to take for the blessings.
Good is nice if your DM rules that it makes the weapon bypass good DR. Artifice is thematic and can be good if you are going to go the Sunder route or will be fighting constructs. Earth is more universally useful than either, but a standard action to activate any of these kinda sucks.

You can be a "War Priest without a deity", pick Strength and Healing Blessings, and still worship/honor Torag.
Many people would frown at this option, but it is definitely an option.
"Born out of wed-lock, the young dwarf was never favored with the Blessings of the great god Torag. However, that didn't stop him from striving for Torag's graces, forcing himself to be stronger as well as helping those he hurt in his rush to show that strength."
You definitely would not carry the political clout of a true War Priest of Torag, but you should carry the same prestige as a Fighter of Torag, or a Monk follower of Torag.
In any event, don't get stuck on Blessings. ALL of Torag's Blessings fade out of usefulness around 5th to 7th level. Choose based on role-playing flavor only is my recommendation.
