Your Jolly Roger

Skull & Shackles

Grand Lodge

Did ye scourges of the nine seas create your own Jolly Roger? Post a link to it here or describe it.

My PCs did.

Its a hooded skull (missing lower jaw and one eye socket) giving two boney middle fingers on a field of black

Ship is called the Reavers Revenge

I made one up for our crew, I cant post it due to being at work and actually I dont have it in hand since it resides at my DM's house. But it is a stylized almost tribal black vulture on a field of tattered crimson.

Yes, someone in the Skulls and Shackles game i'm running is an artist. She made a blck flag with the white outline of a hammerhead shark. The right eye of the shark has the same bright star as the holy symbol of Norgorber (The ship's captain is a Cleric of Norgorber).

Liberty's Edge

Each member of our crew had their own flag, once we became Free Captains.

I went with a classic for mine.

The "we're ready to kill you" flag of Thomas Tew.

Scarab Sages

The players in our group chose this one, often claimed to have been used by Captain John Quelch. The "time to die" message is pretty clear.

I've read that a heart dripping blood was the symbol for a drawn out and tortuous death. A spear or dart the symbol for a violent death. An hour glass meaning that time is running out for the victim to surrender peacefully. The black flag was used as a quarantine symbol for disease aboard ship and it was also associated with funerals and mourning. A red flag was used as a symbol in naval warfare that no quarter would be given.

I presume that the Skull & Shackles symbol represents death or slavery to the victims of the Free Captains. I am also calling the ensign of the Shackles "The Skull & Shackles." I presume that the black on this flag represents death and mourning and the red meaning that no quarter would be given.

Our flag was an eye with a hurricane for the iris. Our first ship's name was the Blighted Eye.

Putting it all together: "This is your last chance to surrender peacefully, before we subject you to a violent, torturous death."

Appropriately enough, the crew who chose that flag also named their ship the Last Chance.

The flag for our ship.

Crimson with an (Half-)Orcish Skull (captain is a proud half-orc).

Do we know what Harrigan's flag is? Would Plugg have been flying it on the Man's Promise when he first sailed away from the Wormwood?

The Wormwood's flag was the undead whale, right?

I completely missed that. Where's that described?
