So, I am thinking of making a paladin for the first time. I looked through the archetypes and found the warrior of light. It looks neat, but I was thinking i wanted some support. Is there only the divine bond as-is? I was hoping for an improved familiar-type feat. Have I just missed it, or is it not there?

From what I understand there are four different archetypes for Paladins(and Antipaladins if your GM houserules that they can take Paladin Archetypes by trading out the equivalent abilities) Sacred Shield which forms it with their Shield, Sacred Servant with forms it with their holy symbol(this archetype also grants them a domain, Divine Defender where they form a bond with their armor, and Empyreal Knight which gives benefits to their mount which could be what you're looking for.
Divine Bond (Su)
At 5th level, an empyreal knight forms a bond with a mount, as the standard paladin ability. Her mount gains the celestial template at 8th level. At 12th level, her mount sprouts wings if it cannot already fly, and gains a fly speed of twice its land speed and good maneuverability. If the mount could already fly, its fly speed and maneuverability improve to at least this level.
This ability otherwise functions as the paladin ability of the same name.

Ah, so nothing official. How does one determine what your mount is for divine bond? It seems like you just get a horse or pony, dog, ect. I was hoping for something a little more unusual. Not OP, but flavorful. As per base core rules and PFS the things that can be mounts are
A heavy horse (for a Medium paladin) or a pony (for a Small paladin), although more exotic mounts, such as a boar, camel, or dog are also suitable.
Though you can always ask your GM to expand the list allowing Medium Paladins to get other Large Mounts and Small Paladins to get other Medium Mounts. Just a thought it would be cool to see a Paladin riding a redeemed Worg as a mount.

Try asking your GM if you can take Leadership at 7 and have your cohort combined with your mount ability for a loyal, unusual mount of an appropriate CR that it will be fun but not OP. You can even improve it by adding class levels (Fighter or Ranger work well) as per cohort advancement as you level up.
