Teleporting with a Golem?

Rules Questions

hey hey,

Is it possible to teleport somewhere and take a golem with you? i.e. a friendly one.

Thanks!

Yes, contrary to some opinions a Golem is not an object so Teleport is not subject to Spell Resistance so it bypasses the Golem's Immunity to Magic.

Thank you!

I assume it's still counted as a creature of it's size for purposes of number of creatures affected, would that still be the case if it was modified with Construct Armor? or does it then count as equipment while worn?

No. Golems can not shut off their magic immunity, as it is not spell resistance, but the implicit nature of their construction. This is why golems are generally made on site. Your other option is Ye Olde Friendly Wagon.

But as Hendelbolaf wrote, Golems are not objects and thus teleport offers no spell resistance which means golems magic immunity does not apply. I could be wrong, but that is how I read it.

Hendelbolaf is correct.

Golem Immunity to Magic (Ex) wrote:
An iron golem is immune to spells or spell-like abilities that allow spell resistance. Certain spells and effects function differently against it, as noted below.

Spell Resistance no and yes (object)

A Large creature counts as two Medium creatures, a Huge creature counts as four Medium creatures, and so forth. All creatures to be transported must be in contact with one another, and at least one of those creatures must be in contact with you. As with all spells where the range is personal and the target is you, you need not make a saving throw, nor is Spell Resistance applicable to you. Only objects held or in use (attended) by another person receive saving throws and Spell Resistance.

A golem, like other constructs, is a creature, not an object.

It means Spell Resistance does not apply, which is not the problem here. Golems do not have spell resistance but immunity to magic which are two completely separate things.

Immunity to Magic (Ex) A clay golem is immune to any spell or spell-like ability that allows spell resistance.

I suggest you re-read golems magic immunity. As far as I have read their magic immunity ONLY applies to spells with spell resistance. The wording was the same in 3.5... Not sure about 3.0 though.

You might be confusing it with 3.0. Starting in 3.5 (and carried over into pathfinder), magic immunity is just SR-infinity. Charlie Bell already quoted the relevant rules.
