Special Material for Firearms

Are there any special materials that would benefit a firearm?

Mithral would lighten it. Ant others?

If you have a GM that likes to have people sunder your guns, adamantine would be useful.

If Obsidian was legit, it would be good, half price for fragile.

Having worked extensively with obsidian, I can only imagine what a terrible idea it would be to detonate a charge inside an obsidian musket.

EDIT: I've heard of a glass cannon, but that would just be scary!

Oh, and there is a certain author in a certain module that taunted me with a certain gun. This amazing looking magical, Mithral pepper box rifle, which was broken, even if I could have gotten it fixed, there would be no way to get ammo for it in PFS.

Add some more challenge to playing a gunslinger, make it out of viridium.

Mithril would make it weigh less.
Adamantine would make it harder to sunder, including giving it its hardness against someone else using an adamantine weapon to perform the sunder.
Silversheen (material, not wondrous item) would make it immune to rust.

Well, it looks like my musket wielder is going to be going for an adamantine musket as his second weapon.

not to mention that having your weapon made out of special materials would allow your pistol whip to deal damage of that type (you guys know about the aweful option that is pistol whip, right? right?)

Back on topic, you could have a Druid or Wood Oracle make one out of Ironwood, just for laughs.

Living Steel would be a cheaper version of going Adamantine if you were more looking to have a brace of pistols our something like that without breaking the bank.
