One of my many, many, many backup characters is a fire-based CG gnome heavily based on General Melchett from the Blackadder series.
I need as many fun things you can think of for this crazy guy to do. For example, I took an idea from another thread whereby I would cast "Fly" then hold a chicken above my head by its two legs. Then I would swoop about Sandpoint screaming "Chicken Parasailing! Free Lessons for all!!!" Or something to that effect.
This is how I would introduce myself to the group.
What else should he do for (relatively) harmless fun as time goes by?

Cast ventriloquism only speak to people through the above mentioned chicken, and make sure to take offense if they address you directly.
Cast Ghost Sound on a regular basis so you can complain about the chicken throwing a fit about being locked in your backpack if anyone insists you put it away.
Cast Continual Flame on random items in dungeons while yelling "Fireball!" follow up with "Damn, that never works!"

I approve. I always travel with a chicken. I cannot think of a single situation that isn't improved by including a chicken.
Deliver messages stoppering a vial of Alchemist's Fire. Bonus points for Explosive Runes.
Use Prestidigitation to produce awards to pin to people's lapels. "Most convincing impersonation of a yak." "Really tried, kinda." "Most in need of a dye job."
Have a trick chest that when opened, spills marbles everywhere. Bonus points if you fill a Bag of Holding with marbles.

Use dancing lights on an unlit torch to make it appear that you're eating fire, then spit three harmless balls of "fire" at your audience. That's a favorite trick of my street performer Katapeshi sorcerer when he's performing for an audience.
But word of advice: Make sure you don't overdo the quirkiness to the point where it wears out its welcome or becomes disruptive. Keep it in its time and place!
