I don't have much experience with play by post, so any help would be appreciated. This would not be a rules-heavy game.
What I have so far:
Lately, though, things have been looking up for you. A chain of seemingly random events has led you to the small town of Rapture, to a large, old building with heavy iron doors that open as you approach.
NPC classes only: Commoner changes are d8 HD, 4+ skills, all saves high progression.
All alignments acceptable. No traits. 1st level.
HP will be full HD+Con mod+CL each level.
All characters will soon have flexible abilities that they can use as their minds see fit with very fast progression.
For those that want to help in determining those abilities:
Most effects will have a linear level-based progression, with damage progression being level squared.
Characters will start knowing the concept of Self and will soon learn two other concepts of their choosing.
Concept ideas so far: Self, Object, Other, Heat, Cool, Electricity, Ground, Conduct, Mind/Thought, Bind, Bone, Lift, Push, Enthrall, Alter, Sense, Order, Hide, Blood, Seek/Locate, Leech, Pull, Fracture, Induce, Poison, Truth, Discern.
I'm looking for new concepts to add and to consolidate similar concepts.
The Discussion tab will be for character introduction, ooc, and gameplay focused on the school grounds such as learning new concepts. The Gameplay tab would be for "class projects." Basically it would be the exploration, battles, and adventure.
I will post on both tabs daily once the game starts and twice daily during battles when I can about 12 hours apart. Character initiative will be player initiative, meaning that those who post first act first and those that don't post that day are treated as Mark the Red from Gamers.

Sounds very interesting. Have you tested any of this yourself in terms of running builds through a combat or two, or when you say the game is rules light, do you mean things like combat are completely narrative?
Some other "concepts" that spring to mind: Time, Chance/Fate, Matter, Growth, Decay, Light, Shadow

I've run the numbers on damage and HP and it looks like one hit kills won't even be a possibility using the enchantment abilities until at least 17th level. However, at low levels they are better for utility as damage will be very low.
The AC/save increases become comparable to some monster types of equal level, though I may have to decrease saves to 1/2 or 2/3 level.
Combat attack and defense will be based on rolls, but how a character describes his action or use of ability may determine bonuses, what type of AC or save the opponent uses, and additional effects (such as higher damage or multiple partial effects.) It will also determine if the attack is modified by Str or Int

Let me throw some info at you to help you get started with Play by Post gaming.
DHs Guide to Play by Post Gaming
That is general information about formatting and how to post in Play by Post (pbp), good information for all.
This has a number of links about running a pbp.
Just my few thoughts about it all. Running pbp will take a long time. Just remember it takes at least one day for someone to make an action. I believe I figured a 3 hour game session equals about a week in pbp. Home made game can be sped up or slow down, skipping over parts to make the game run faster for the pbp speed. Just stay flexible, and if something is taking to long, make a jump.
Don't think that just because PBP is slow, you can wait to figure things out on the fly. You don't want to spend an hour trying to figure things out that you hadn't preplanned for. Try to be well prepared in advance, just like running a regular session.
I'm sure I could say a lot more, but I will leave it at that. Happy DMing.
(if some of this doesn't make sense, it's because I copy pasted it from another post)

New players are welcome. Most of the combat rules will be simplified, so it should be easier to do in PbP. All enchantments will eventually be available to everyone, but you'll have to choose a limited number from the array available at your level. At level 1, you'll start with Self and get two other concepts from a list available shortly after it starts.
I did run this in BESM (not the d20 version), but it's been a while, so I had to recreate it from scratch.
If this gets enough interest I'm looking at starting recruitment the Monday after next and likely spend a week after that choosing players.
