Do I take the first level skill and Feats or do I choose a particular class to start.
What? You do both? What kind of question is that, no offense but you read the rules right? You can't have a character without a class, and you take the first level character features(feat) with it. If you are asking which order you do it in then that makes a lot more sense (though that isn't what you wrote) in which case skills comes after class features (it is in fact a class feature) then finally the feat.

Unless you haven't played since 2nd edition, in which case you are confused as hell. We have a player like that who is always wrong about everything. She hasn't played since 2nd ed and never read the rules even back then. We have to explain how bonuses stack every time we encounter a new magic item, and she really didn't understand that playing a rouge doesn't entitle you to a larger share of the loot and xp. If this is your problem you need to read the rules before you try to do it from memory, you will save yourself a lot of headaches.
