Kelden Sunblade |

@Alesie
In the 'morning' after he prayed to Sarenrae for guidance and spells he slid over to the others to make sure they were awake. He paused by miss Alesie with a soft smile.
"Miss Alesie, I just wanted you to know dont ever doubt yourself. Your ability to move about almost like a ghost unseen holds great merit, Dont doubt your abilities You have been a great help and you are braver than you know. There is a mongrelman down there who is still alive thanks to you, when things seem dark remember, you have already saved one life, and you skills kept that insane dwarf from doing worse to Caralain and I. So I thank you for that. You are my hero for that."
He said with smile patting her on the shoulder as he rose to awaken his sister in faith Kyra.
"Morning Sunshine, up and at them, we go to feel the dawnflowers kiss today."
He began with a soft though almost nervous smile.

Kyra Greenstar |

Kyra woke with a start at Kelden's touch, her frantic eyes took a moment to register his face. "Oh, Kelden... it's you. For a moment I..." She blinks her large, green eyes and shakes the dreams from her mind. "Nevermind."
She yawns and rubs her eyes with her knuckles; however, before Kelden moves to stand she places her hand upon his knee. "Before we depart today, I would like to have a word in private."

Kelden Sunblade |

"Of course Kyr... sister Kyra"
he began glancing over at their sleeping companions. They just had to make it today to the surface, the loss of the Dawnflower's kiss was beginning to grow wearisome on him. He moved over to the side to 'adjust' things in his pack, pulling to the side enough to give them some small minor privacy.
"how may I help Sister? He asked lowly when she neared.

Kyra Greenstar |

"Kelden, I'm afraid..." She starts quietly, fumbling with the hem of her shirt. "What if... what if we get to the surface and it's overrun with demons? What if Kenabres is completely destroyed? What if---" She stops herself with a sudden frown. "I am ashamed of my weakness, but goddess save me, these are demons we go to face, Kelden. Not just giant spiders or demented dwarven mages, demons. I do not know much about their kind, but the little I do know terrifies me to my core."

Kelden Sunblade |

"There.... there is no shame in fear sister Kyra."
He began slowly and lowly, though the 'calm' in his voice was obviously a little forced.
"We all came to Kenebras with some purpose in mind, The goddess guides and protects those who have belief in thier faith. I have so far hod the honor of fighting along side a brave, beautiful and deadly Dervish in the service of the Dawnflower... I have no doubts Sister, when we reach the surface, if its overrun you will fight with all your heart and skill, and be the fierce sandstorm sent by the goddess to purge these lands of their taint.
He pulled her close and hugged her for a moment.
"The sister who raised me used to tell me that fear was only the fuel to make great things happen. All mortals have fear, its the ability to channel it into something constructive thats important."
He added giving her a soft squeeze before letting go. He wasnt ready for this, The fact that they had made it this far seemed more akin to luck than any thing he had done. Still, he knew he had to continue to put on the brave face, the others morale was too important to let his heart dwell of his hidden fears.

Kyra Greenstar |

Kyra watches Kelden with her large, green eyes as he grasps their goddess' holy symbol. His words bring a smile, shy smile to her lips as she listens. "Well I don't know about brave..." And suddenly he was hugging her; Kyra was caught off-guard for moment, but then she wraps her arms around the young cleric.
His words were comforting, and while they did not completely erase her fears they did bring her a sense of purpose. The hug was more comforting than anything, it reminded her of her mother's comfort when she used to awake screaming in the middle of the night. Nightmares of that fateful night in that dimly lit basement that changed everything...
The embrace ended and before Kyra let go of Kelden's shoulders she leans forward and plants a kiss on his cheek. "You're a good man, Kelden. Thank you for that, I shall endeavor to live up to the honor you see in me." She smiles at him, but there is something different to this one. It is not the toothy grin she usually displays, nor the flirty smirk she sometimes uses. It was a small smile, almost as if they had just shared an inside joke.
Kyra pats Kelden on the cheek and turns to leave, to continue packing up her gear before they depart; however, she turns around after only taking a few steps. "Kelden." She looks surprisingly unsure for a moment, chewing on her lower lip. "Perhaps you could call me, Els from now on instead of Sister Kyra. That's what my father calls me, it's short for Elsbereth... my given elven name." She smiles and turn away again...

Kelden Sunblade |

"Els, I can do that I believe. Thank you for Being here, I don't know what I would have done without you here. Let's wake the others shall we, the surface calls. "
He said giving her a self assuring smile as he turned to wake the others.

Kyra Greenstar |

If Kyra noticed Kelden's blushing, she did not make a mention of it. Instead she nods at his words. "You needn't thank me, Kelden, but thank Sarenrae. I believe it was Her will that brought me here, to this place. And I agree, let's wake them. I believe I am ready to leave these caves, despite what we may find above."

Kyra Greenstar |

Kyra does not say much on the journey back to the nearby mongrelman city... She constantly glances back over her shoulder, expecting to be attacked from the rear by whatever forces remain in the stronghold.
Once they are safely back to the city she relaxes a little and begins to look over all the gear they obtained from their fallen enemies. "What shall we do with all this? Are any of you interested in these items? I can try to sell whatever we don't need to purchase some smokesticks like Carilain suggested. That could definitely be beneficial when we return in limiting that Gods-be-damned archer!"

Carilain Riveroak |

Carilain holds up one of the finely wrought chainshirts. "This is more flexible than my leather. I think I'll take it. We can sell my old armor of course."
Carilain grins. "I'd not like to be that bow-woman, when Thetin gits close to her. Paybacks...

Thetin Dorvas |

"I would honestly hope to not have to face her again. But if she does press the attack against us once more she'll certainly find me a harder target than last time."
