Un-leveling Campaign

Advice

Anyone tried Pathfinder backwards? Start level 20. Finish level 1.

Merlin, by T. H. White wrote:

Or "Defeating Arch-Lich save world but curse us. Now cleanse realm of his minions. But weakening fast!"

Well I know what I'm trying next...

Sovereign Court

Interesting premise. You'd have to carefully manage player expectations though, they rarely like handing back their toys.

Ber very careful with charged items (wands and such). People might hoard them for when they start to lose their levels.

That seems like an intelligent and fair thing to do. But you should certainly take it into account.

Ooo what about having players have a level 1 char and tell them to have a level like 15 version of the character ready as well...

Then for like really cool randomness they power up in game sometimes due to god ors w/e and get to play that fight as their level 15 alter egos..

What happens to there magic items and other wealth?

Merlin: Not got loot "yet". Example. Undead terrorize village. Use command undead make go sepulcher. Realize me magic sword ancestral heirloom that family. Undead only rest quiet with sword on chest held in folded arms. As Merlin sees, this how "got" sword but living backwards. (Waking undead lesser evil. Sword needed save world "back" at level 20! Merlin know not need sword more now.)

Curse and minions: Part curse is magic items small chance breaking each use. Or each minion boss revive unless magic item power spent to seal away evil spirit.

Yes, because Players, especially 3.x players LOVE it when you take their stuff and nerf them. You'd have to find a special group of players to try thid out.

It might be worth it to actually play at level 20. I have never had a game get that far.
