Hello all,
I am beginning to play a 6th level Oracle of bones with the wasting curse. For a bit of flavor, I have decided to make him a craftsman of magical masks as a means of boosting his abilities and hiding his grim face.
Designing, for example, an Intimidating Mask that grants +6 to intimidation checks would be calculated like this:
6 squared x 100 = 3600 g base price
So to craft it, I would need 1800 gold, craft wondrous item, and an appropriate spell- Cause Fear
Do I have that correct?
What if I wanted to craft something a little more strange, such as a Mask of Inflict Moderate Wounds, having the spell effect whenever a character puts it on?
Or a mask that animates a corpse that wears it?

You're basically correct on the mask of intimidation, though +6 is a bit unusual. Generally, it is done in +5 increments. You are spot-on for the requirements as well. This would take up the 'head' slot, so you can't wear circlets, crowns, hats, helms, or hoods while you have the mask.
Now, a mask that causes a magical spell to go off gets more complicated.
Either of the ones you list is probably considered use-activated and only goes off when it is put on, so Spell Level * Caster Level * 2000 gold.
The mask of inflict moderate wounds is spell level 2, caster level 3, so 12,000 gold. If you want to limit it to a certain number of uses per day, the math is (Cost * charges per day) / 5. So 5 times a day is the baseline, while each charge under 5 is 20% off the price. So if your mask only did this once a day, it would cost 2400 gold. Alternatively, if you give it 50 charges (like a wand), you cut the cost in half. Your GM may even allow you to divide it further by reducing the charges (so 6,000 for 25 charges). But if the party has, say, someone/thing who can only be healed by negative energy, I'd limit this to some amount of times per day or give it charges. Otherwise it is an infinite hit point provider.
Animate Dead is more complex. The spell level is 3 and thus caster level is 5. For unlimited uses, it would be 15,000 gold. However, there is more. First, the spell has material cost, which is 25g per HD of creature you create. So you have two options in this regard.
The by-the-book rules state that it is either 100 times the material cost for unlimited/continuous use items or 50 times the material cost if it has some daily limit of uses. This also means you have to pre-determine the strength of the undead it makes. For example, a mask that makes a 10 HD zombie, it would be the base 15,000 gold + 25,000 gold in material cost (25g per HD, times 100). But you probably don't want this to be an infinite use item. So, again, either (40,000 * uses per day) / 5 or 20,000 for 50 charges.
Alternatively, you could ask that the mask simply cast the spell and you provide an appropriate amount of crushed onyx every time the mask does its job. For example, poured into the mouth and eye holes of the mast when you speak the command word. This would let you get the mask for 15k and only pay the amount you want when you want to power the undead. This isn't strictly allowed, but it is a cool thematic image. I'd probably also require it to take a few turns to do (maybe a full round action to put the mast on, and another to activate it with the onyx powder). Since this is a Command activated item, the formula drops to Spell Level * Caster Level * 1800 gold.
It is also possible to reduce the cost of the animate dead mask further, per GM's discretion. Normally the animate dead spell can pull up more than one creature, so long as the total HD doesn't exceed twice caster level. This mask can only do one guy. So you could ask for a discount because it is limited. Say, -20%? It is a reasonable request.
However, to make a mask that is in any way more useful for the price than a simple wand of raise dead, you'd probably need to reduce the uses to 1-2 times a day, get acceptance on my 'pour onyx in to activate' idea, and even the 30% discount. So that would be (3*5*1800*2)/5 = 10800 gold. This is before any discounts as discussed in the previous paragraph.
Otherwise it is (3*5*2000*2)/5 + (25 * 6 hit dice * 50) = 19500 gold for twice a day with 6 HD worth of powder put into it.

Intimidating Mask that grants +6 to intimidation
Mask of Inflict Moderate Wounds, having the spell effect whenever a character puts it on?
Or a mask that animates a corpse that wears it?
+1, +5, or +10 is better for stat items.
Remember the rules for item creation is similar items (therefor +6 stat items are out) and similar power.
An item that generates damage with no charges is not in the books yet. All thing like this are like Necklace of Fireballs. One-use.
Animate corpse would be expensive, because it has a material cost and is a powerful effect. I think you would have trouble finding a fair price for it. Just like you have trouble finding a fair price for a everhealing glove of Cure Light Wounds.

We once had a GM that let us craft a vest that could cast the Heal spell an unlimited number of times per day. Best 180,000 gp we ever spent as a group. Of course...thats when we went from having 4 encounters between rests to...until the spellcasters are completely out of spells.
