Gunslinger Deadeye (Ex) Can somone explain how it works.

Rules Questions

Explanation of how this works and please provide an example combat round using it please.

The wording has me very confused on how its supposed to work.

Dead Eye

Normally you attack somethings regular AC score but a 'slinger uses touch AC within the first range increment of the gun, normally 30 feet (with 2nd range increment being 31-60 feet and so-on). At 31 feet and beyond you go back to hitting regular AC. Something to remember is every increment past the first is a -2 to hit.

The feat lets you spend Grit points to be able to use touch AC at further range increments. So that would be 1 point of grit to hit someone's touch AC up to 60 feet, 2 to hit touch at 90, and such.

Alright, I'll see if I can clear things up a little.

Normally a firearm will target touch AC only in it's first range increment.

Spoiler:
Early Firearms: When firing an early firearm, the attack resolves against the target’s touch AC when the target is within the first range increment of the weapon.

But if a gunslinger uses the Deadeye Deed they can target touch ac out past the first range increment by using their grit.

So say a gunslinger is equipped with a pistol (range 20 ft). They can fire at any target within that 20 ft and target touch AC. But if the target is outside of the 20 ft, then the gunslinger targets normal AC AND takes the range increment penalty.

Example: Our gunslinger (armed with the above pistol) has 2 targets, one at 15 ft and one at 30. Firing at the first target (the one at 15 ft) he would be going after touch AC. When he goes to fire at the second target (the one at 30 ft) he would be firing at normal AC with a -2 penalty for the range increment.

Hopefully that helps a little.
