Ok I've have a few questions.
1)A monk and a Quarterstaff +2 that also extends 20' as a swift action. Now can this monk make attacks of opportunity in a threat range of 20'? He also has that combat reflex feat so this could be a whirlwind of attacks, which is kinda of cool.
2)Also can one throw knives or throwing stars as AoO if enemies move through his treat range? also
3) can the monk use his fury of blows in conjunction with his staff, staff-whap to head, palm to chin and then a kick to the chest?
these may be simple questions but I'm new to this. Thanks.

1) you can only take swift actions on your turn. If you've ended your turn with a special item that allows you to threaten 20' active (I've never heard of such an item), then yes, otherwise, no. If you don't threaten at the instant the AoO is provoked, you can't take any sort of action (except immediate if you've got some special ability) to change that.
2) Baring some special feat or ability, an AoO is defined as a melee attack.
3) As long as the monk is eligible to use a particular weapon in a flurry, he can use it in combination with any other weapon or unarmed strike that he can flurry with.

1. If you keep your weapon extended after that turn, then yes you should still have that reach. However, if an enemy were to move inside of that reach, you would then suffer a detriment to attack with that reach weapon - causing you to use more swift actions. Still, very cool. Makes me think of young Goku.
2. No. Not unless you have the Feat for it. Snap Shot I believe.3. As long as that staff has the "Monk" special quality on it, then yes you may use any fluffy variety of staff/ius attacks in your flurry. Just keep in mind your staff and ius have different statistics.
