Starfinder Superscriber

I'd really like to start using the Pathfinder campaign setting.
There are just so many books I'm not sure where to start, or better
put, which ones are more critical than others.

I'd really appreciate a little help, thanks.

The Inner Sea Primer is an ideal way to dip your toes in. It's 10.99, 32 pages, but gives comprehensive info on all the major nations and gods. It also has a pretty sharp map and timeline.

Are you asking for the actual setting, or the game itself?

For the setting, Kasmud hit it pretty well. Then there is the locale specific, what type of area do you like more.

Far north viking. Egyption, african, regular medieval.

I'm interested in the setting, thanks a ton for the advice Kaz. Having a bit of background on the nations and gods overall is exactly what I wanted. I need a place to start since they seem to have 1,000,000 campaign setting books. :)

Quite welcome.
I homebrew, but I still use the primer for ideas and often ape the structure. It's a good buy.

I asked one of my GM's / fellow players (depending on the campaign) whether it's ever worth it to buy the Inner Sea Primer if you have the Inner Sea World Guide. The answer was no.

Based on that, I'd say go for the ISWG. If you're willing to settle for a PDF, that's only $9.99 for over 300 pages of info on things like the nations of the Inner Sea region, half a page about each of the 20 major gods, 1 page detailing each of 12 human ethnicities, and further 1 page each for the rest of the core races in Golarion, stuff about the history of Golarion... And lots of other delicious stuff that I haven't yet read myself but probably should :)
