Totally because the scaling DR, enormous save bonuses via superstitious, big stat upgrades via rage, most HP per level, more skill points than the fighter, and other tremendously good rage powers like spell sunder totally don't stack up to the other classes without pounce.

Pounce would make already overdamaging characters *cough* cavalier *cough* do even more damage. Pounce would severely break the game for several character classes / combos.

I'm really only suggesting it for fighters. I might consider it for rogues and monks since both of those tend to underperform as well (less the latter due to good archetypes). I'm of the opinion that Paladins, Rangers and the rest can muddle by.

Though honestly I am somewhat inclined to limit it to fighters since they get few enough class specific toys(though I guess this wouldn't really be one).

People play Cavaliers? And they're overdamaging? In my games we haven't seen one yet so I am genuinely curious but that being said afaik just limiting it to exclude charging outside of your own power like via a mount, would sink that ship pretty fast.

Ah in that case I'm going to go ahead and say it doesn't matter what you lock it behind since fighters have a boat load of feats anyways.

On the contrary. You might find some people saying "Well, Greater Beast Totem isn't very good any more" but also "Sweet! I get to use Dragon Totem, Fiend Totem, or Hive Totem without sucking comparatively!"

I agree with this. Every time I build a barbarian I can't not pickup the Beast Totem. There is just too much power to be gained from pounce, it's ridiculously good. I'd like to try the other totem powers, but I just refuse to give up the pounce option.

If there were another reasonable way to obtain pounce, I might expand out and choose another totem instead.

Getting a mount for a Barb that scales isn't hard and the basis of RAGELANCEPOUNCE was born from Barbs in the first place, so what's making Cavs (who have more focused damage instead of Rage's blanket to damage in all directions), so I'm not seeing where it'd be broken for a guy who owns a horse.
