I read up a players class to understand it better and i am still stuck with a question. It has to do with summoning and the eidolon. I understand that if he is in eidolon form, he cannot summon a monster or else the eidolon disappears in the planes.
He tells me that he can summon his eidolon or summon monster up to 8 times a day because its a spell like ability. He says if the eidolon dies it goes back to the planes or he can deactivate it at anytime or If he falls asleep, the eidolon goes to the planes as well.
Is this possible? Because i wasn't able to find that info. If this is not true, can someone explain it or provide me a link that says how much times he can cast it and how he can send it back... Because we are in a situation that if the city spots magic users, they are thrown in prison and his translucent image can be a prob.
Thanks

He can dismiss his eidolon as needed and re-summon it an unlimited number of times (it is a time-consuming ritual, not effective to begin in combat.
aside from that he can use the summon monster ability x# of times per day, if his eidolon isn't summoned (with duration of summons, this could mean both simultaneously with adequate prep time)
The eidolon is intended to be obviously other-worldly and may be a image problem in a city that is touchy about magic users.
Important note " If the eidolon is sent back to its home plane due to death, it cannot be summoned again until the following day"
a side comment... the synthesist is a borderline broken class that allows easy optimization with limited system mastery and that many players overlook the inherent limitations when building the character, making it easy to 'accidentally' make even more hideously over powered.
IF YOU ARE NOT CONFIDENT IN THE RULES, DON'T LET SOMEONE PLAY THIS CLASS (this coming from someone who loves this class)
