Creating a 12th Level Character

Advice

Liberty's Edge

What book would I find the rules for creating a 12th-level character in? I'm supposed to create a character at 12th-level following Pathfinder Society rules in order to play a specific module, and I'm not sure where to find things like total gp value for treasure, etc. Or if prestige points are applicable and how.

Anyway, if someone could post that information here or let me know what sourcebook or supplement to find it in, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Well in terms of game rules, the core rules tell you how to build a character of any level. But is this for pathfinder society, or are you simply using the rules and restrictions of pfs? Because that would make a large difference. For an actual PFS game you cant just make a 12th level character. I believe you would have to use a pregen.

What Kolo said.
To play an official Pathfinder Society module and have it count for sanctioned Society Play you need a specific party size, society #'s for the entire group (including the GM.)

Also the highest level pregens allowed are the 7th level ones. AFAIK there are no allowable higher level characters if you don't have an existing Society character.

That aside the Guide to Organized Play (free download) covers the ins and outs of Society specifics.

Most of the content (including the guide and pregens) can be accessed via the website.

Good luck!

Are you actually playing in PFS, or just in a home game using the module?

Anyway, average starting GP per level is here, at the bottom of the page.

Also, I assume your GM is using PFS rules, and that the game isn't officially PFS.

Since it's a module, Prestige points will probably not be relevant. Should they be, ask your GM how many you are awarded.

Gold, since this is a home game, is another "up to the GM" thing as not all PFS characters get equal gold. Probably he would use the WBL chart, giving you 108 000 gp. Ask your GM.

The PFS Guide to Organized Play should answer questions about amendments to core classes from CRB. Additional Resources should tell you what is an is not legal from non-CRB sources. For the most part, the evil alignment and crafting feats are a no-go in PFS, along with most non-CRB classes, things involving Drow are out unless it's spider silk rope, crafting's a no-go, and a few archetypes are forbidden, too. Additional Resources, however, has a more inclusive list for you.

Hope that helps, and enjoy the module.

My edit window on the above post closed.

Edit: Most of the non-CRB races, that should say. Non-CRB races allowed being aasimar, teifling, tengu. Sorry...
