So episode one was pretty interesting. I feel the episode overall tried to do a little too much, but i'm still interested in where this is going.

Just started watching Season 4 the other night. They’ve already put out two episodes, but I had to wait for my new TV to be delivered.
So far it’s interesting. Jodie Foster, Fiona Shaw and Christopher Eccleston are the only actors with whom I’m familiar. And I didn’t recognize Eccleston at first. Story is compelling, with some call outs to Season 1. A bit more of the overtly supernatural in this.
I look forward to seeing where it goes.

I didn’t realize this at first, but apparently the ghost that appeared to Fiona Shaw’s character is the ghost of the father of Matthew McConaughey‘s character from season 1. That’s cool.
And it seems the chick who got murdered six years prior had discovered something about what the scientists were up to. Or she just found something horrific. Maybe some eldritch microorganism that possessed her. And maybe they were keeping her on ice at their facility. Which could explain the “She’s awake” line. And I can’t help wonder if whatever’s going with the still births among the natives isn’t related to whatever has woken up, instead of the mine. Unless the mine is also somehow involved in what has awoken.
Either way, I’m enjoying this season. Jodie Foster’s character is particularly fun.

It's not bad, I really like the occult mystery in the air. I don't care for htem working overtime to make every person possible seem awful.

Yeah, now that you mention it, they do seem to be going overboard in the “everyone sucks” department. After last night’s episode, however, I did feel a twinge of sympathy for that older deputy, who got scammed by the “mail order bride”. Only a twinge, though, because he’s still kind of a butt head.
Damn, though. They’re really jumping into the heavier supernatural element this season. Ghosts everywhere. I’m really hoping they go a bit deeper into Lovecraftian territory.

Last night’s episode was pretty cool. I’m liking the kid Prior more and more. He seems to be the the only one at least trying to be a good person. Sucks what he had to do in the end.
There’s only one more episode to go, and I have to wonder if they’ve got enough time to tie up all the dangling plot threads. At least we should get a resolution to the big mystery.

I was both satisfied with and somewhat disappointed in the season finale.
Satisfied with because they wrapped up the main stories and the mystery deaths in a pretty solid way, with the slightest, tantalizing hint that perhaps something more supernatural did in fact occur.
Disappointed for much the same reason. After a season with a much more overt supernatural presence, the resolution to the murders was decidedly pedestrian. It made sense, though, given the show’s history.
Overall, a decent season. I’d place it third overall. Season one is still the best. Followed by season three. I’ve never even watched season two, having heard nothing but bad things about it.
