Ultimate Campaign: Rooms earning capital

Rules Questions

Hi Folks,

I'm looking for a clarification for rooms earning capital.

Do you have to spend the gp for a room to earn capital?

For example:

A Throne Room (assume Take 10) earns 2 Influence per day. Does that mean I have to spend 30gp to "earn" that capital?

A Bath has Gold / Influence +3. (Assuming Take 10 again) I can either pocket the 1.3gp OR spend 15gp to earn 1 Influence.

For some reason, I'm struggling to get my head around these rules.

Cheers,
Jim.

What happens is that you can set the room to produce any type of capital. If it isn't gold, you need to pay for it as well. So, yes, about as you have described it. Typically, this ends with a few days of saving up followed by one day of making, say, Influence, but of course you can spend any money you like on it.

Why Sissyl said. Other than the GM handing out capital as treasure, you must always pay gold to increase the amount of capital your character has.

Thanks for the answers Sissyl & Chemlak. That's helped clarify things for me.
