I need some advice for a character class choice in a new pathfinder game starting up soon.
The party make up is: Life Oracle, Paladin (holy gun), Ninja, Magus. It's one healer, one range and two melee so far.
Can the Magus do nearly all of the spell casting necessary or does the group need a wizard/sorcerer? Would this group do better with another range of front line fighter you think? As long as it's a Pathfinder source it should be acceptable unless it's incredibly obscure.
Thank you in advance

A bard might be a good choice for that party. Add a little more magic to the party, as well as buffing since potentially all of the characters in the party could be attacking. A witch might also be good for some magical utility, and the ability to cover (with the right patron) key spells the oracle and magus dont know. And alchemist might be nice for some utility and ranged attacking, as well as (with the right discoveries) battle field control.
Any idea what kind of campaign it is? Is it a specific adventure path or does it have a theme? That party has most of its bases covered. So you can be pretty free to do whatever. The only thing i would avoid is another front liner, as it would like clog up the battlefield a bit in tight spaces with 3 or more characters trying to be 'up front'.

Magi make pretty decent spellcasters, but they don't have many of the "god wizard" spells for battlefield control, etc. However, I think your casting should be enough to satisfy most modules - there are few challenges that are impossible without a full arcane caster.
A druid could be very nice in this party. Caster or Melee could work; the thing is, your frontliners can dish out the damage, but they won't be able to take it too well. Having a battlefield controller to ensure you don't get mobbed, plus another couple of bodies - whether animal companion & druid or summoned creatures - would go a long way towards making your party battle-ready. It's also nice to have a full caster with access to their whole spell list - as long as the campaign is somewhat nature-y, a druid should be able to cover you pretty well in that area.
Failing that, a tanky Cleric build could also do quite well. It's just nice to have access to stuff like Remove Blindness, Break Enchantment, or Raise Dead without forcing the oracle to use up his spells known or buying expensive scrolls.
I would definitely beef up your front line somehow or another, though. You need some meatshields!

I think an evangelist would be good in this case. U would have access to summons, modest spontaneous heals In an emergency, inspire courage to boost ur party, and depending on ur domain and god choice u could be a big debuffer to the enemies. I personally favor glory or protection for more buff or chaos for debuff at higher levels. Finally I like variant channeling of protection (negative) so u can hurt massed enemies and debuff at same time. Can even do it for a move action later on :)

Bard or Alchemist would fit in nicely since both are extremely versatile.
You could go ranged with bombs and melee with your mutagen with the Alchemist. You also would be fine out of combat and with all of your alchemical creations very prepared in any jam!
Bard is always a great choice for any party.

Thank you everyone for your advice. I will take a look at each of the choices you mentioned. Except perhaps, the Gripli Druid with the pet piggy! Although...that is weirdly awesome in it's own way. I think my main concern is the lack of certain spells, lack of a real frontline fighter, and of course battlefield control (which of course can tie into spells or martial abilities.
@blackbloodtroll it was a random roll set for the stats. I ended up with 16,16,13,13,12,12...yes pretty wild.

Starting at first and it looks like it will be an Adv Path. Possibly Carrion Crown.

With dual 16 and everything else at least a plus 1 mod, I would change my vote to a something that is a switch hitter OR a caster with melee. Ranger and Inquisitor would jump to the top of the list but a tiefling alchemist or wild shape Druid with animal companion would work wonders too.
Based on stats on party composition I personally would take Druid. Ur companion can be a front man if u so choose and u can be both caster and melee urself almost at will. Strength and wisdom is a rare combo for race bonuses but it does exist and human can trade feat and skilled for it. Finally, u have ur own list to add to the party. Not as great as wizard for control but u do have a few that are good.

your only full caster is focused on healing... i'd suggest another full caster (or nearly full), but one who can also offer some combat support. the best options for that (in my opinion) are, in no particular order:
druid- some blasting/control/buffing; have animal companion and wildshape for melee support
battle cleric- there's a handful of ways to build these successfully... check the guides or start another thread asking how to build an effective melee cleric
eldritch knight- trapper ranger 1/wizard[divination|scryer] 1/eldritch knight. trapper ranger gives you trapfinding (which currently nobody in your group can do). the scryer subdomain lets you enter eldritch knight at 3rd level. this way at 12th level you cast at 10th level and have +11 BAB.
