I plan on GMing in the future and am slowly building my own personal world but seeing as the most experience I have in this type of thing is only reaching lvl 5 with a barbarian I'm looking to play more first to gain a better understanding. I studied it quite a bit a while back but then our campaign fell apart and I drifted away without being able to find another game. I work 7 days a week so my only option is to find something with a consistent time on either a Saturday or Sunday which I can request off. either in the morning or afternoons after 5pm on one of those two days :/
If you have any advice or would be able to help me come up with my world/campaign I would be more than appreciative. However, I don't intend on running a game for quite some time. I plan on building a world/campaign that is very unique and immersive.

Ok, so my question is, WHY do you want to play. This can help in determining WHAT kind of game of want to play, and WHERE to go to play.
For example: I play "to play the game"; I didnt have any friends to play with, went to it directly. How? THrough the webternets. Personally, app.roll20.com. THere are hundreds of games being run at the same time. You can play with anyone in the world, from anywhere (good for me because of geographic instability).
Many people want to "balance social vs play". In that case, search out unviersity/college/highschool clubs, they often have many games going on that need players. The site "meetup.com" can help find such gatherings.
That's all I can reccomend. roll20 is GREAT, and I've played with a lot of folks, and it's awesome if there's nobody nearby that wants to play regularly. My own GM might (will have to check) be looking for new players (fridays, 7 pm eastern time) if you,re interested.

Monday-Friday I work without being able to go around it whatsoever. Personally, I used to write short stories and novels in high school but gave up upon losing a book I put a year and a half into... I'm hoping that this will give me a more in depth background into fantasy and help to inspire me to re-claim my passion for writing.
And I would prefer something that is very balanced as opposed to the hack & slash I experienced with my previous campaign.
