Oh ok. From the description, I thought that was just another sourcebook. I didn't realize it was a module. Since it is so deadly, does it have particularly good rewards/boons/storyline?
.It (and Snows of Summer) are pretty expensive for modules though.
Are they really good enough to be worth it?

What would you consider the best three for inexperienced players starting their first character?

Thornkeep is a great module, interesting local, some pretty interesting NPCs, but as stated before it is very deadly for 1st level characters, I can think of three particualr hard encounters any of which could wipe an entire party. If you want to get the best "bang for your buck" first steps part one is a free download, as is MotFF, and WBG.

This is a good list for starters. We recently did a similar lineup: Confirmation --> First Steps 1 --> Thornkeep: Accursed Halls.
Accursed halls is a BIT easier if players are not 100% brand new, although having a level 2 or two helps even more.
This lineup leaves characters at level 2 with 5 xp, just one scenario away from level 3.

Yep, it is considered a full module.
Not only that, but for the purchase price of the Thornkeep Online book, you actually get 5 total modules.

These span levels 1 through 7 or 8 if I remember correctly.

FWIW, The Confirmation has over 5,000 different encounter combinations for a party of six 1st level players. Just sayin'..Kyle, didn't anyone tell you it's bad to pimp your own stuff?
You're supposed to get others to do it!
FYI. I liked it and so did my players.
I haven't read through it yet, but I finally did get the chance to play it last weekend. It was pretty interesting for a 1st level module. I'm quite certain, that is one that I will be buying in the near future.
