Hello all! I would like a little advice on a character.
Normally, I play PFS, but recently I was invited to play in a homebrew fictional Transylvania-like setting. It sounded interesting and I was looking forward to playing homebrew again(it's been easily over 4 years), so I said yes. I don't know the GM very well and can't contact him easily, so maybe some of you could fill in the gaps.
From what I know, everyone starts at 4th level, and the party consist of:
A Dhampir Inquisitor/Rogue type character
A Dhampir Witch
An inadequate(not my words) Half-Orc Barbarian made by a newby player
Yikes.
It was clear to me that I am definitely the most experienced player in the campaign, so I realized that I need to make a character that would cover our weak spots. This is going to be a difficult campaign(high fantasy), so I need to really think about this.
At first, when I looked over the party, I decided that what we need is a healer. I started making a cleric, but I quickly realized that this wouldn't work because I can't focus on positive energy healing without killing half the party.
However, then I realized that both the Witch and the Inquisitor can both wield both positive and negative energy for spot healing among the party. The friend who invited me said that what we really needed was a damage dealer.
Ok.
I decided to go with Zen Archer. I had a hypothetical garuda-blooded aasimar Zen Archer build that I had made for PFS sitting on the back burner, so I decided to bring her out. The GM said no to aasimars in his campaign, however(probably a wise choice; aasimars are f***ing broken).
Here is some additional information relevant to this game:
-The GM is not disallowing PVP; each character has individual motives and an over arching goal. Anything goes, as long as each player is willing to face the consequences of their actions.
-Arcane casters are banned(probably also a wise choice), including summoners. Bards are probably ok, though.
So, Here is what I have so far:
Vetli, Female Human, LG 4th level Zen Archer:
HP: 31
Stats, 25 point buy:
STR: 14
DEX: 14
CON: 12
INT: 10
WIS: 20 (Is really 22 because of an item)
CHA: 10
AC: 19 (WIS + DEX + Monk AC)
CMD: 24
BAB: +3
Saves: Con: 5, Ref: 6, Will: 10
Init: +8 (Dex 2, Trait 2, Feat 4)
Feats:
1. Improved Unarmed Strike
1. Perfect Strike
1. Point Black shot
1. Precise Shot
1. Improved Initiative
2. Weapon Focus(Longbow)
2. Deflect Arrows
3. Point Black Master
3. Deadly Aim
1. Improved Unarmed Strike (auto monk feat)
1. Perfect Strike (auto monk feat)
1. Point Black shot (first level selection)
1. Precise Shot (monk bonus feat)
1. Improved Initiative (human Feat)
2. Weapon Focus (auto monk feat)
2. Deflect Arrows (monk bonus feat)
3. Point Black Master (auto monk feat)
3. Deadly Aim
Good lord, she has 9 feats by 3rd level... That's ridiculous.
Her flurry and regular bow attack is at 1D8+5 damage each arrow with good chance of hitting(around +10 for both). Could be better, could be worse.
Perc is +13 at the moment (I can make it higher if I need to) so she sees the hypothetical back stab coming and won't be caught surprised.
She has crap tons of Ki points, which she can use for bonus 4 AC, extra flurry for one round, extra distance on attacks, or extra movement.
Is this good enough?
I'm a little worried about her in front line combat. While she can easily dish out the damage from any distance, low hit points and low AC are not a winning combination. The way I remedy that is to use Deflect Arrows, combined with high movement, Perc and initiative, and keep the distance. I'm not sure if that is as safe as I want it to be, though.
I could change her first level feat selection (Improved Initiative) for something else.
I'm not sure what the starting gold will be. Most likely typical starting gold for 4th level characters(I don't know what that is). Regardless, I definitely buy a Headband of Inspired Wisdom +2, so I have calculated that in. I will also be getting a +1 Composite (STR +2) Longbow, with an additional ability. I was thinking of making it a +1 Called bow to play it on the safe side; if I make sure she always has her bow handy no matter what, I won't have to worry about neglecting her unarmed attacks.
I'm going to buy some cure potions just in case my allies can't(or won't) heal me.
I'm still working on her back story. I was thinking that she could be an Ex-Pathfinder working undercover for the Silver Crusade to root the most powerful vampire coven. However, that doesn't really work if she has low bluff...
Thanks guys!

the concept is sound and u r effective as a damage dealer. u also have experience so u know how to use her. but u will need to make minor revisions to ur character to the specifics you have mentioned.
1) given ur party and its size u cant afford the glass in "glass cannon". so I would propose that u swap out improved initiative or another feat for toughness. I know I hate it too but in a party this small and relatively squishy u need it. On a similar note never take anything but hp for favored class.
2) Con needs to be just a bit higher IMO. id really like to c a 14. how u do it is ur business but a -1 to INT and CHA isn't a killer for a monk. a +1 to fort and another +1 hp a level is nothing to sneeze at for what u gave up.
NOTE: with these changes you will increase your hp by no less than 8 HP, don't know where u favored went. which by my estimations is a 25% increase in health.
3) though it is easy to say but u may not be in front line battle. u may have to surrender a flurry to duck out of battle once in a while. with ur faster movement (40 I think at level 4?) u should be able to avoid getting melee damage a fair amount of time. if an opponent keeps chasing u that is good because unless he can keep up u can kite em along. point is NEVER try to be the front man just accept that sometimes it will happen, hence 1 and 2.
4) throw in a Qinggong archetype just in case u need it since it never hurts u and u might release u need one of the many abilities it offers. cough BARSKIN cough
5) at level 5 I think improved initiative should be revisited. it is a good feat and by this time u have what u need to survive a bad circumstance so control becomes more important now. its a judgement call as to whether or not to take it here but don't ignore it just because I recommended a temporary change.
Consideration: if u don't mind being dumb u could go a 7 (-2 mod) in INT and CHA to get a 14 CON and a 16 DEX. the dex would +1 to initiative, reflex, AC, skills. its worth a thought.
6) u mentioned a backstory in ur last bit... an inquisitor would MECHANICALLY work better for that backstory. U could do much of what you have planned out as the zen archer with inquisitor and still be undercover with very little loss. Conversion and heresy inquisitions are all good for such mouth/social skills and the infiltrator archetype is very good also. The cunning initiative class feature gains high levels of initiative early. Monster lore is good and so much more. Id compare the 2 and determine what fits ur style best.
Played the inquisitor a LOT if u want more on the matter.
hope something in there helped. Good luck

If you really wanted to be a healer you could go with a Oracle of Life with the Black Blooded archetype. You can spontaneously cast inflict spells to heal you and the dhampir, and keep a life link with the half-orc to passively heal him.
Life link is great because it isn't healing via negative OR positive energy, just pure health.
