Help with damage

Rules Questions

So I was curios about the rule that says if you weild a weapon two handed apply 1-1/2 of your STR modifier. What in earth does that even mean? How would I calculate that?

Multiply it by 1.5. Round down, if necessary. Or am I missing something of deep philosophical significance?

Take your strength score, subtract 10, divide by 2. If this is not a whole number, then round down. This is your strength modifier.

If you attack with a melee weapon that is not a "light" weapon in both hands you add 1.5x your strength modifier to the damage.

Take your strength modifier and multiply by 1.5. If this is not a whole number then round down. This is the amount of the added damage.

As an example, if you have STR 18, then your STR modifier is +4. Your damage with a two-handed weapon will then add +6 (4*1.5) rather than the normal +4.

"4*1.5" can also be written as "4 plus half of 4", if that makes it easier.
