I am playing a summoner and I would really like to give him a cane. Not the quarterstaff that everyone tends to talk about, but just a cane.
The ONLY example I can find is the cane that Ezren wields in the pregen characters. He has a cane that is able to deal 1d6 damage.
I realize that his cane is his bonded item, but it IS a weapon, and I can't find it listed in ANY equipment lists, so I am not sure how much it costs/weighs/etc.
Could someone direct me to a PFS legal cane weapon, that isn't the cane sword or the quarterstaff, but literally just a cane. That's a weapon. Like Ezren's? Please? T_T

Sadly, there is no actual cane on the weapon lists of any of the supplements. At present the only PFS legal option to have a cane as a weapon without suffering the improvised weapon penalty would be to have the Rough & Ready trait from Adventurer's Armory and a rank in a Craft or Profession that would conceivably need a cane as a tool of that trade. Perhaps Profession: Physical Therapist? Or Profession: Old Geezer?

It's weird that a pregen characters that are set for use in PFS has a questionably legal weapon- by all accounts, Patrick is right- its a club. But because they call it a cane, he should probably be suffering the improvised weapon penalty per RAW, as MrRetsej calls to light.

argh. I guess I'll club it up, and just let it be known that my club is my cane. *shrug.
thanks u 2!

Shepherds use canes for the sheep, right?
Alternatively, if you want a cane that bad, just take the Caught off Guard Feat and treat it as an improvised weapon.
Other alternatives: a club that for the purposes of character discription you say looks like a cane. Might still have trouble sneaking it in to "safe" zones. Use a sword cane, and just never take the sword out. Maybe a Hanbo (AA), if you don't like the quarterstaff? Take a level of wizard and get a cane as your bonded item?

Improvised Weapons: Sometimes objects not crafted to be weapons nonetheless see use in combat. Because such objects are not designed for this use, any creature that uses an improvised weapon in combat is considered to be nonproficient with it and takes a –4 penalty on attack rolls made with that object. To determine the size category and appropriate damage for an improvised weapon, compare its relative size and damage potential to the weapon list to find a reasonable match. An improvised weapon scores a threat on a natural roll of 20 and deals double damage on a critical hit. An improvised thrown weapon has a range increment of 10 feet.
So, in short, yeah basically just pick something and go with it. At my table I usually compare things to clubs.

Somewhere, a long time ago, I found a warhammer that someone had cleverly disguised as an eagle headed walking stick. (the spike end formed the beak, and the crushing prongs formed the feathers coming back from the head.)
One of these days I'm going to get around to giving that to a PC. Though sadly not in PFS it seams.

How about the Agile Alpenstock from Ultimate Equipment?
AGILE ALPENSTOCK
Price 2,000 gp; Aura faint transmutation; CL 3rd; Weight 1 lb.
This gnarled wooden walking stick aids a creature's travel, granting a +5 foot enhancement bonus to speed and a +2 enhancement bonus to CMD against trip attempts and on saving throws to avoid being tripped. These bonuses apply as long as the agile alpenstock is held in hand. It can be wielded in combat as a quarterstaff.
CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS
Cost 1,000 gp
Craft Wondrous Item, longstrider
I know it's still technically a staff, but it feels a bit more cane-like to me.
