I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but if any of the wonderful designers see this, thank you for taking time to do so :)
So, as a fan of Pathfinder, I jumped at the chance to playtest the new classes. Some of these I LOVE, while others I can do without. But most have a few issues I noticed.
I saw Arcanist is being fixed and reworked, so I won't go there. What i saw in the rewrite, i LOVE :D
Bloodrager is near prefect! :D It works better than a barbarian/sorcerer and the bloodline powers are built perfectly. They better suit the idea of the bloodline. My only issues are the alignment (I'd think it would be a non-lawful class, like Barbarian, but my friend who told me about the playtest suggested that some Lawful people could still rage) and the shield not being allowed to be used without incurring AFC. The bard can use shields and still cast fine with no chance of failure, so maybe the Bloodrager should be the same? Just my thoughts on it. And the Arcane bloodline, just to clear this up, with the Arcane Bloodrage powers, can you choose which spells apply to you every time you enter the rage? That would work SO much better than if your choice is set forever
Brawler is well made, but the Martial Manuevers and Bonus Feats are a little too... open. It says you can only take combat feats, yet in the Defense option, it lists Toughness. Was Toughness upgraded to Combat feat status? Or is it an exception? Also, feats like Great Fortitude and Iron Will should be allowed in my opinion, as they too boost your defenses (ie, your saves). Also, can the Brawler use their levels as Fighter levels for qualifying for Fighter feats in regards to Unarmed Strikes, as per the Martial Artist Monk?
Hunter seems decent enough, but I have yet to fully look into it. Once I do, I'll add on my thoughts of it.
Investigator is honestly one class I can do without. It's both too broken and OP, mainly with inspiration and such. The idea of Alchemist/Rogue seems better done normally, but this is just my thoughts.
Shaman is a good class, but the spells aren't that good. Both myself and my friend think it would work better with its own spell list, but I'm going to use a fusion of the Cleric and Druid lists. Also, it would work better as a Druid/Oracle, since the idea of a shaman makes me think of a Druid. The Spirit function is well made, as is the familiar bonuses.
Skald is a VERY specific use class. It seems it work best when paired with Barbarians and Bloodragers and any martial class that focuses on Str based attacks. My question is with the rage powers you can grant, what about the totem powers? Some of the higher up ones don't need an action to use, but the ones needed to get them do. So, can you gain these powers or are they not allowed?
Slayer is truly a great class. Only issue I had is Bluff isn't a class skill. Since Slayer can be made to be an assassin, I'd think Bluff would be a class skill, especially since Favored Target grants its bonus to Bluff as well. It also is more flexible than the Ranger in that you can select your Favored Target on the fly instead of being set forever.
Swashbuckler is well made, but I agree with people on the Finesse feature. Do you count as having the Weapon Finesse feat or not? It seems to be a little... broken there, but the rest of it is nice. Swashbuckler Weapon Training gets OP right off the bat with gaining the benefits of Improved Critical, but that does work nicely as well.
Warpriest is a nice idea. Better than a Paladin or Antipaladin (now being able to play as a holy champion to a Chaotic Good deity and an unholy champion of a Lawful Evil deity), but the channel energy feature doesn't quite fit. I think it would work better with the Lay on Hands/Touch of Corruption feature, being able to direct the energy into a single target with one use and targeting all in a 30 ft burst using two or more uses. The Blessings are a tad broken, but have potential.
All in all, I do like where this is going :) And does this now mean Magus counts as a Fighter/Wizard for the purpose of multiclassing?
