Balor or Pitfiend character

Advice

Hello everyone. I'd like to have some advice on a future character. I've always loved the balor and the pit fiend as a monster, but wanted to control this beast. So i'd like to have some idea how to build a character the most similar to this idea.

Are you looking for a legitimate, by the rules character themed like a Balor, or a Balor played as a character?

If it is the former, without crunching numbers or anything else I might suggest doing a Tiefling(Demon Spawn) Bard (Arcane Duelist) and Dragon Disciple, but perhaps see if you can tweak the Dragon Disciple to line up more with one of the fiendish sorcerer bloodlines instead of Draconic.

If you just want a balor/pit fiend as a character, then you can use a monster as a character with each CR being equivalent to 1 level.

To add to Fomsie's suggestion, I recommend the Eldritch Heritage line of feats.

Ahhhhhh!!!! Run, it's oh shit fiend!!!!

Anyways.

Yeah, the best way to control a balor/pit fiend would be to be a GM. If that doesn't work, then there really won't be any opportunities to play one short of epic level monster campaigns or some crazy one player destroy the world campaign.

If you want a balor/pit fiend themed character, then I'd suggest abyssal/infernal sorc into EK. That way you have spells and melee, just like a B/PF.

Nah, it's more about a character themed than a Balor, because you cant really play it as a level 1 character. Actually, the tiefling was obvious for me, but the bard dont fit for me because, the songs and the spell list dont fit really (but the prestige class could be nice if tweaked). I've tought about maybe anti-paladin/sorcerer/eldricht knight, an oracle(battle mystery maybe)/sorcerer/mystic theurge.

Don't forget Asimaar. Playing a 'fallen' Evil as heck aasimar who looks all corrupt and vile is a potential way to go.

Doing something as simple as putting mundane full plate on a balor pretty much breaks him.

Here is my try:

Race: Tiefling (Demon-Spawn)
Class: Anti-Paladin 3/ Sorcerer 3 / Eldricht Knight 10/ Dragon Disciple 4

Ability scores: (20 pts)
Str: 14 + 2 racial + 6 eldricht heritage + 4 dragon disciple + 4 belt = 30
Dex: 15 + 4 belt = 19
Con: 10 + 4 belt = 14
Int: 14 - 2 racial + 6 headband = 18
Wis: 8
Cha: 14 + 4 racial (switched my spell like with a +2 charisma) + 5 level + 5 wish + 6 Headband = 34
Traits: Magical knack, Seeker (Perception is a good class skill and it help check his back), reactionary
Drawbacks: Power Hungry (Duh)
Anti-Paladin
1 Power Attack
2
3 Two weapon Fighting
Sorcerer
4
5 Weapon proficiency (Whip)
6
Dragon Disciple
7 Leadership (Having some minions doing bad stuff is cool)
8 Skill Focus (Knowledge Planes)
9 Eldricht Heritage (Abyssal)
10
Eldricht Knight
11 Weapon Focus (whip).Whip Mastery,
12
13 Improved Eldricht heritage
14
15 Improved Two weapon fighting, Improved Whip Mastery
16
17 Greater Whip Mastery
18
19 Intimidating Prowess, Greater Weapon Fighting
20

Weapons : +2 Keen, Unholy, Vorpal Adamantine Longsword and +2 Flaming Burst, Keen, Vorpal Scorpion Whip

Extra: -Esoteric Training
-And Maybe trying to become a real balor with the transformation ritual in Lord of Chaos.

I'd like your advice on this. Viable or not? I dont know what spells would be good on him. If it would be possible to be a "good" antipaladin, I'd like to not be Chaotic Stupid, psychotic murderer. What items could be good and everything else.

I don't like to do this but bump?

Liberty's Edge

You could easily make some kind of solar the same way. Add the mythic rules and the character really becomes something amazing.

I would not go with two weapon fighting especially with those weapons. The penalties would not be good for you, but if you insist you should definitely skip Greater Two Weapon Fighting.

I would also skip the whip mastery feats. If you are allowed to transform into a balor then you will get the ship anyway. :)

PS: My advice is mechanical in nature only. If your group is more RP oriented then those feats may not be so bad, but they are not optimal.

Not sure if this would interest you Krishtan, but you *can* play a balor or pit fiend at first level (or at least you'll be able to in a few days when I post version 18 update with all devils and demons) I've been working on a Pathfinder conversion of Savage Species Bestiary Levels v17
