Honestly, part of the issue isn't even just custom for flavor, it's balance.
Cutting three levels off to make a spell list does not a balanced class make.
Go look at the bard's spell list; some spells higher, some lower, wherever it suits flavor and tactics and strategy. Greater Shout is active around when a Sorcerer could get it, if I remember correctly; and there's other cases, as well.
They are not going to get balanced spellcasting this way, which will skew the rest of the class.
tldr; I am sadface at this decision, perhaps moreso than any other they've made, and I hope they change it.

If this is what they're going to go with, I'm not going to be buying this product. It would be better for Paizo to delay printing and put out a quality product than to put this slapdash product together. Yes, I know this is the beta-test. We're seeing the rough form. But there's certain rumblings we're getting... and it doesn't sound good.
Seriously. We need to hammer out the problems. And there are problems with these classes. And then once we've gotten the revisions, we need to hammer out THOSE problems. And one of those bits includes proper spells for these classes.

I have to agree that I would prefer to see specific spell lists for each of these classes. Especially the classes that are a reduced amount of casting from the class that has their spell list. Paizo has created a list for all the other reduced casting classes, it doesnt seem reasonable to me to exclude these classes.

I think that this playtest, as is, is a lot of good stuff that needs a little refinement. I'm okay with the borrowed spell lists. It means less space taken up by spell lists and more forward compatability for spellcasting classes, as new spells are added to spell lists, new options are opened for these classes.
