Should there be an 'Alignment Discussion' forum?

Homebrew and House Rules

As the title says. Alignment questions come up enough I am wondering if they would be best served with a subforum of their own?

Would be interested to see if there is support for this.

I strongly disagree! And anyone who argues with me is worse than Hitler.

It wouldn't work. It would quickly become the worst forum on the messageboard, and every thread would end with a lock.

Yes, and it should have a trapdoor that opens up when it is full and pulls everyone in it into a small room where a sweet grandmotherly lady walks up to each of them, slaps them hard across the face and says "Stop it!"

If you believe that Alignment is the only hydra in the sea of threads, you have not perused these forums long enough ;-)

That would be pretty evil.

Silver Crusade

or would it be true neutral? in that the grandmotherly lady does it to everyone regardless of guilt or not.

Personally I house rule no true neutral. If you were truly neutral you would be a rock/in a 24/7trance state. I don't understand why it was even put in the first place. in 28years of playing and 20 of dmin its never been allowed at a table ive played it, regardless of if its my table or another.

Every thread would end up locked!

Topics like alignment are sort of PF/DnD's "popcorn topics." They come up now and again. You just have to get out the popcorn. Other potential popcorn topics are...

- Fighter versus Wizard
- This Class Needs Full BAB
- Guns versus Bows
- Technology versus Fantasy in RPGs
- Rollplayer versus Roleplayer (I've always thought these threads would be more productive if they focused on handling social difficulties)

...next time they do come up, just plan on sending in an order for caramel or a little extra butter.

It will never resolve, but it will pass. Popcorn topics are something every new player needs to go through. Sometimes the old ones, too!

For gamers, it's sort of the equivalent of a Dallas Cowboys fan griping about that one football game that one time, and if the players only played /this/ way, wouldn't it be better for everyone?

I would like this, so I can just hide it forever. Same with whiney rogue threads.

Oh This sounds like a wonderful idea!

I concur

When I first saw this I thought "quarantine for trolls/troublemakers"... In any case, I know better than to get involved in "popcorn topics" as Ruggs says.

Still want a Politics forum I can do this to.

Like people wouldn't just keep on making alignment threads in the wrong forum.

Yes, but we could move them there! To that forum no one dares enter.

Or we could just admit the truth... Only I know alignment and everyone else is wrong.

NO!
