Good AP for a home base? (Non KM or RotRL)

Advice

Are there any adventure paths (other than Kingmaker or Rise of the Runelords) where the party stay in the same area , such that they can have a home base and put down some roots in the community? Are there any APs set almost entirely around and in a city or a fort?

Our group wants to try a less travel-oriented campaign.

Thanks!

Curse of the Crimson Throne all takes place in one city, I believe.

A solid chunk of the 3rd party AP Way of the Wicked has the party staying in one place and fortifying an area.

Ummm...the middle books of Serpent's Skull have the party exploring an area, but always reporting to home base at the end of the day (but it's not really a community, more a camp for an organization).

Skulls and Shackles travels a lot, but you have your boat (and the crew) that you'll be doing a lot with, so it has much of the same feel I think for a community.

That's all I can think of for now.

Kingmaker occurs in the one Kingdom, and the players can put down roots, as well as castles, wizards towers and anything else they like :)

One of the books of CotCT leaves Korvosa, the 5th one, iirc, but the party comes back at the end.

Council of Thieves stays in Westcrown the whole time, I believe.

Ahem: "(other than Kingmaker or Rise of the Runelords)"

=)

That was the one I think I meant actually (that's the one that pretty much starts with the sewer chase by Hellknights?), I dunno if I've ever actually read Crimson Throne.

Wrath of the Righteous seems to be pretty centralized in and around Kenabres. Not to mention a field trip into the Abyss, of course.

Reign of Winter has the players coming back to the Dancing Hut at each adventure. It's quite a crazy home base, though, since it changes all the time.

Jade Regent is all about travel, but you do have a caravan as home base. Not quite the same, I fear.

Thanks for the replies. I will mull them over.

CotCThrone is 3.5 rules, right?

Headed to bed. Will check back tomorrow. Thanks much!

Uhhhm. Not really, although they do get to make another city their base for a while a lot of time is spent away from it.

That's what I get for posting from work. Council of Thieves is the best for sitting in one location using Pathfinder rules.

Curse of the Crimson Throne is a better campaign, but spends 2 whole books away from the city and that might be too long.

Shattered Star has you based in Magnimar, though you spend quite a bit of time on the road.

Liberty's Edge

Though it is NOT an AP, The Dragon's Demand module will take PCs from 1st to 6th/7th level and is completely centered on a small town and its area, with an awesome map and table describing the main NPCs of ALL these locations ;-)

Throne of Night, which is just starting to get released, should largely be based around establishing a home base (either for good or evil).
