I have a wordcasting sorcerer in a campaign. He took a third trait and the hedonistic disadvantage. It made sense as my backstory is that my character was poor, then went crazy after leaving his village.
So we made a few stipulations, it had to be from an external source, and drugs would work. He told me i could buy a chess set, and use that, but i thought that it didn't work with my vision of my character.
So i look for women in cities. In a different game, this player would say things like, "i have an 18 cha, they pay ME" and i was willing to accept this, and thought it was fun. I have a 20 cha, he has had me fail to seduce women with an 8. This pissed me off, as i felt thqt he was trying to punish me unnessicarily.
I also tried using drugs, weeell, we used the rules from the GMG. I almost died, and i wanted to take the stat drainart out, and simply role play the addiction as i would almost any other disadvantage.
He yelled at me (literally yelled, he's kind of an ass) thAt i was trying to avoid having to pay for a disadvantage i took, even though i took a trait that gave a bonus to survival as a role playing thing. He said that that was an advantge from a mechanics standpoint.
So the question is, how would you guys hadle this.

Do you mean this trait?
For the seduction thing, i wouldn't put to much weight on stats - especially if you are a drifter/not around much. But diplomacy would matter more if anything influences it.
When a cheap chess set is all you need to satisfy the trait, then well it is not that restrictive.
You could just make bets with your party members. "bet you 10 gold I ...." then do something awesome/slightly difficult.

If you feel he's being a dick about it tell him your character finds playing Solitaire or Harrow cards entertaining, play cards alone for an hour at night and you're good.
More seriously, if he is yelling at you and you feel as if he's trying to make you fail then talk to him out of game, it almost sounds like bullying the way you describe it.

I can just imagine somebody walking around, looking all shifty and nervous (like an addict without a fix) and just screaming out "WONT SOMEBODY PLAY CHESS WITH ME" and collapsing in tears...
Nah, you just play against yourself.
Although now I'm imagining a player arguing with his DM:
"I'm playing both sides, that should count double time so I only have to play for 30 minutes a day."

Leave the game. Yelling is not acceptable, especially over a game. (Though there is a difference between a raised voice and yelling). Don't care the reason, yelling about the game is a game killer for me.
About the other stuff: From the Hedonistic trait I read (mechanics wise) seems like you could do any kind of entertainment for an hour, so reading a book, buying items, eating out for dinner, etc all works. You can even roleplay each activity with a bit of a "Seven Deadly Sins" flair depending on each activity (Reading a book totally ='s sloth). As for seducing an npc, on straight charisma that's tough. Should see if you can use bluff or diplomacy... those even have rule for adjusting attitudes and making requests.
But the most important part... I'd either talk to the GM and put my foot down that their yelling was inappropriate (and perhaps demands an apology), or I'd simply leave the game.
